  1. If the deal with the devil was that Heyward was going to be not terrible in LA, but Bellinger would also regain his former glory, sign me up for that one.
  2. On one hand, yes, but on the other hand, I like having Wisdom down there to give a power threat at the bottom of the order.
  3. Oh shut up Sutcliffe. The Cubs have a lead so Wesneski is supposed to just start grooving fastballs?
  4. More than just Nico and Happ, the Cubs 1-3 looks like it's going to be a real problem for other teams. If Seiya can take the step forward that we all hope for, Bellinger continues to show signs that he is closer to his MVP form, and Wisdom puts up anything close to his current numbers, suddenly this is a really potent lineup.
  5. No doubt JD will be back just in time for Boog to have a couple days off.
  6. I mean, do you expect him to BEND OVER? He has a family to think about.
  7. You didn't get the invite to the 1914 Club where we gathered for several hours and then released the white smoke to declare that a top prospect had been chosen?
  8. Personally I think the entire premise is flawed. The general idea seems to be that there are ~54 predetermined wins, ~54 predetermined losses, and the rest of the games are winnable toss-ups. Whatever the numbers may be, I don't agree with the idea that the end results can be segmented in such a way. It is one thing to say that a team's win total will almost always fall between 54-108 (which I think is all the Lasorda quote was really saying), but it seems rather silly to try to bucket the games into individual arbitrary groups.
  9. Where I actually sit is Section 227, because that is where my Season Tickets are. I'm in the front of the section, on the aisle, and pretty much in the best possible location for the section without jumping up a price level. I'm not saying they are the best seats at Wrigley (because they aren't), but for me they are the best option at my price point when considering both view and resale. My absolute favorite seats would the the Upper Deck Box (300 level). If money was no object, sure I would love to sit at field level in the first row, but my favorite reasonably-priced seats have always been the upper deck. I just love the elevated view of the ballpark. The only reason I didn't get Season Tickets up there is because the resale is significantly worse and I want to minimize the losses (and there are definitely losses!) on the games I sell. I have also grown somewhat accustomed to the easy in/out of my terrace box section, being able to get right in and out of the gate and not have to worry about navigating the concouse and ramps. If I'm buying individual game tickets though, it is almost always in the 300 level, and I love sitting up there for concerts too.
  10. Don't sleep on Codi Heuer, assuming he comes back healthy. He might not be able to go back to back days for awhile, but it is possible he could emerge as another late inning option.
  11. It's gotta be Boxberger. Fulmer for 2 innings after pitching last night would be insane.
  12. Mancini has been a disappointment so far, but I'm willing to give him a bit of a longer leash. Hosmer has been, well, exactly who we all thought he was.
  13. Leiter has been unbelievable this year, especially considering that the spots he is getting brought into are typically the ones that would be pitched by the lefty reliever(s) on any other team that actually has them.
  14. His stuff just looks really hittable. I thought the same thing when he blew the save earlier in the week. Sure he struck out Hayward, but that's not saying much.
