  1. When is the announcement expected for the 2025 All-Star Game location? Any chance that happens during All-Star week?
  2. It appears Wiggins just had his TJS in February, so we won't be seeing anything out of him for awhile.
  3. No argument there on whether some of the guys who were seen as high floor picks have actually seen that high floor materialize. I mean, wasn't Brett Jackson supposed to be the ultimate high floor type prospect? That floor collapsed.
  4. When I just Googled "Ed Howard floor", this was a blurb from literally the first article that came up.
  5. I could be off here too, but I think it's more the perception that the Cubs lean toward selecting "high floor" guys in the first round.
  6. I find a Hendricks trade highly unlikely. There are other teams who would be interested, but they probably wouldn't be willing to give up a whole lot and I don't think Kyle is a guy the Cubs want to dump just to get rid of. Plus the option for next year is a viable one for the Cubs if Kyle continues to pitch like he has.
  7. It pretty much has to be Mervis with a fresh start at 1B coming back from the All-Star break, right? Send Young back down, recall Mervis, and let him start 4-5 games/week with Mancini getting a few games against lefties. Nobody else is giving the Cubs any production at 1B, so (barring a trade) they have nothing to lose by giving Mervis the second half of the season.
  8. Maybe we can flip Taillon to the Yankees after tonight's game. They will fall for that, right?
  9. Fulmer has been as good as anyone else in the bullpen recently, so I didn't have a problem with Ross using him in the 8th inning yesterday. I guess you could argue that it could have been Merryweather instead, but there just aren't a lot of better options.
  10. I think the Cubs are probably a better team. The problem is they likely aren't "better enough" to make up an 8 game deficit. Even with a softer schedule coming up, it is going to be incredibly difficult to make up that amount of ground against two teams when the Cubs' talent level is only marginally better at best.
  11. It's tough having both of the corner spots be offensive black holes. I never thought I would actually miss Madrigal.
  12. The Jared Young experiment was fun while it lasted. Now get Mervis back up here.
  13. What is going on with the pitch click today? I still hate that I have no idea what is going on half the time with pitch click violations, and I especially dislike the called strike three on a non-pitch.
  14. It's nice that that umpires can arbitrarily decide when to enforce the "out of the baseline" rule going to first
  15. The idea of picking up Hendricks' option seemed to be a non-starter going into the season, but now? Especially if Stroman is gone, it might be a worthwhile move.
  16. Just when the Cubs almost had us sucked back in and considering the possibility of winning the NL Central, now we're back to them being terrible and likely being bad for years to come.
