  1. Said sponsors must each nominate a representative to participate in feats of strength.
  2. I fully expect 2025 to be awarded to another city, with Manfred continuing to pay lip service to Chicago as a "potential" host for years to come.
  3. Unsurprising, but gross nonetheless. https://theathletic.com/4685872/2023/07/12/yankees-jersey-sponsor-starr-insurance/
  4. Our long national nightmare is finally over.
  5. And it all comes down to Kimbrel...
  6. Why are we being subjected to a continuous split screen with ARod and Ortiz while the game is ongoing? At least find Adley Rutschman's sister in the crowd.
  7. No ASG thread this year? Which forum would it even go in? Anyway, that sucks the HR got overturned. This NL losing streak is beyond the point of ridiculousness.
  8. This event in particular seems like it would be much more enjoyable to watch in person.
  9. When is the announcement expected for the 2025 All-Star Game location? Any chance that happens during All-Star week?
  10. It appears Wiggins just had his TJS in February, so we won't be seeing anything out of him for awhile.
  11. No argument there on whether some of the guys who were seen as high floor picks have actually seen that high floor materialize. I mean, wasn't Brett Jackson supposed to be the ultimate high floor type prospect? That floor collapsed.
  12. When I just Googled "Ed Howard floor", this was a blurb from literally the first article that came up.
  13. I could be off here too, but I think it's more the perception that the Cubs lean toward selecting "high floor" guys in the first round.
  14. I find a Hendricks trade highly unlikely. There are other teams who would be interested, but they probably wouldn't be willing to give up a whole lot and I don't think Kyle is a guy the Cubs want to dump just to get rid of. Plus the option for next year is a viable one for the Cubs if Kyle continues to pitch like he has.
  15. It pretty much has to be Mervis with a fresh start at 1B coming back from the All-Star break, right? Send Young back down, recall Mervis, and let him start 4-5 games/week with Mancini getting a few games against lefties. Nobody else is giving the Cubs any production at 1B, so (barring a trade) they have nothing to lose by giving Mervis the second half of the season.
  16. Maybe we can flip Taillon to the Yankees after tonight's game. They will fall for that, right?
  17. Fulmer has been as good as anyone else in the bullpen recently, so I didn't have a problem with Ross using him in the 8th inning yesterday. I guess you could argue that it could have been Merryweather instead, but there just aren't a lot of better options.
  18. I think the Cubs are probably a better team. The problem is they likely aren't "better enough" to make up an 8 game deficit. Even with a softer schedule coming up, it is going to be incredibly difficult to make up that amount of ground against two teams when the Cubs' talent level is only marginally better at best.
  19. It's tough having both of the corner spots be offensive black holes. I never thought I would actually miss Madrigal.
  20. The Jared Young experiment was fun while it lasted. Now get Mervis back up here.
