  1. You did see the hits, right? A broken bat double and a pop-up just out of Bellinger's reach? I'm not gonna blame Fulmer (or Ross) for those.
  2. Technically yes, but also about as borderline as they come.
  3. Just gotta load the bases here to get into his comfort zone.
  4. Scoreboard watching against 5-6 other teams is exhausting.
  5. It's a lot, that's for sure. This is my 11th season and I plan to continue for as long as I can, but I certainly wouldn't call it a wise financial investment. I enjoy having my seats whenever I want them and the idea of guaranteed playoff tickets when applicable, but I could definitely save money by just buying tickets to whatever games I wanted to go to. All things considered, I'm able to keep the Season Ticket expenses somewhat reasonable by reselling a large number of tickets (typically at a loss) to the games I don't attend. It's a lot to keep up with though, managing all the ticket inventory and sales just for the sake of treading water at best. It is much different than the idyllic dream of Season Ticket ownership that I once had. I keep telling myself, "Next year I'm going to go to a lot more games," but it's a lot easier to say that than to actually do it!
  6. I guess I never paid much attention to Gallo, but 2021-2022 Gallo doesn't seem to far off.
  7. That is a good comp in terms of the average numbers over several seasons, but Schwarber seems to be trending toward an even more extreme version of lower average, higher on base and slug. How long will that be sustainable?
  8. I continue to be somewhat amazed, by Kyle Schwarber's stat line. As of 8/21/2023, he has a .182 Batting Average over 450 At Bats, with 32 Home Runs, .429 SLG, and .327 OBP I keep expecting his Batting Average to normalize around or slightly above the .200 mark, but that isn't happening and seems to be holding fairly steady in the .180-.190 range. He obviously has great slugging and on base skills, but he needs every bit of that to offset his pure hitting deficiencies. Has there ever been another player like this who has remained a consistent everyday player despite having a sub-200 average over an entire season?
  9. Back to the end of the line you go! P.S. That is also the front of the line.
  10. I love listening to Pat and hope he sticks around for a long time, but something I have noticed more often this season on the radio is he is missing pitches more frequently. I saw an interview with him recently where he discussed filling in on the TV side and that one of the differences in doing TV is that you don't need to talk as much because the viewers can see the action. I wonder if a part of that approach has inadvertendly made its way to his radio broadcasts. There have been many occasions this year where I can tell that a pitch has been made based on the background sounds, but Pat either continues his conversation with Ron or doesn't say anything at all.
  11. 10 days ago I was more worried about the Padres. I guess that's over with now.
  12. I'm late to the party, but the timing of the Barnhart move seems strange to me. I'm all for getting rid of him, and I suppose there's no wrong time to do it, but what changed that finally forced the move?
  13. I believe one of those was an infield single and the other was the double ahead of Morel's HR, which also wasn't hit overly hard. It really hurts when you combine that with Dansby's extended funk and Happ's limited contributions. Getting virtually nothing from 3-5 makes it really hard to sustain any offense. Hopefully they turn it around really soon.
  14. I'm really tired of Happ. Why isn't Candelario batting 3rd? Happ is at best the 6th best hitter in the lineup.
  15. I'm listening on the radio and they make it sound like it was a very tough play, but Wisdom is a butcher at 1B.
  16. I'm old enough to remember when this offense used to score lots of runs. Those were the days.
