Every time the Braves have scored, the Cubs have come right back. This team is fun to watch right now.

2 runs on 3 walks, a hit by pitch, and a single. Still not doing a whole lot offensively against Morton, but he's not going to last beyond 5 at this point.

Playing against this Braves team has the feel of being a significant underdog in an NCAA Tournament game. You know the other team is better, bigger, more athletic, etc, but the upset is possible if you can win the turnover battle and shoot the lights out from three. It's really hard to imagine being able to beat the Braves in a 5 or 7 game series though.

Brewers win, but still an overall great day. Even with a loss tomorrow, the Cubs will be in good shape coming out of the Braves series. And it's baseball, so they might just steal another one.

I'm not overly confident in a 5 run lead against the Braves with Assad in the mound, but it's definitely a welcome and unexpected start!

There still seems to be the narrative that the Cubs play mostly day games, but I'd be curious to see how they compare to the rest of the league. I'm sure they still play the most, but I bet it isn't by a large margin anymore.

Regardless of the outcome tomorrow, it is shaping up to be a really fun weekend at Wrigley. It's fun to be playing meaningful games in August again.
