  1. There is some of that, and I don't put a lot of stock in the random Twitter post, but this does smell like a case of a DA over-reaching for a serious felony charge that isn't supported by the facts. Obviously we don't all know those facts yet, but based on the reactions of others who are closer to the case than we are, I am fairly confident that the felony charge isn't going to stick. Whether that might actually lead to Shannon playing again this season, I have no idea.
  2. It certainly appears there is a lot of smoke indicating that the serious charges aren't substantiated and that there may be discussions taking place to get the charges dropped or substantially altered to reflect what actually happened.
  3. I think it would matter because you are entering "win now" mode, especially if they use their picks to address other Non-QB positions. With the rest of the roster being playoff-caliber, I think they should have better insurance than Bagent in the event of an injury.
  4. So let's say hypothetically the Bears stick with Fields next year and add weapons around him. While I do think Bagent can be a decent NFL backup, they can't have him as the #2 behind Fields again, can they?
  5. Get Carolina on the horn. See if they want to trade their pick 2.1 for a QB (Fields). 😁
  6. Just in case you didn't trust the SOS math.
  7. 26-0. Pop the champagne everyone.
  8. 16 completions today for........ 92 yards. Tyson Bagent, is that you?
  9. Carolina down 19-0 going into the 4th quarter. They have a total of 69 yards of offense through three quarters.
  10. Or a genius move to burn another one of the Falcons timeouts!
  11. I don't know that Fields is a guy who can just be plugged into a random offense midseason. I would think any team who is acquiring him would need to do so in the off-season so they can tailor their offensive gameplan around his abilities.
  12. On the bright side, even if the decision has already been made, he is showing just enough to improve his possible trade return. What's the best case scenario for him - a 2nd rounder? Or is that too high?
  13. 9-0 at the half. So far so good, but still a little too close for comfort.
  14. I don't think the Bulls are a fair comparison. The Bears have assets and financial flexibility, while the Bulls are up against the cap with mediocre/bad contracts and no help coming through the draft for several years. Taking the coaching decisions out of the equation, the two rosters have their arrows pointed in different directions.
  15. They may very well be cheap, but I have a hard time believing that Eberflus' $4M is anything more than a rounding error compared to the money the Bears bring in each year.
  16. The Offensive Coordinator candidates are really going to be lining up to work with Eberflus next year.
  17. Absolutely not. If the Cubs aren't going to be willing to spend on a top of rotation starter (and there are no indications they will ever be willing to pay a #1 starter in free agency), then they need to hit on a guy like Horton from their own system. He is the most untouchable guy they have right now.
  18. Absolutely. I like Fields and will be rooting for him wherever he ends up. The Bears trading him outside the division will make that much easier to do.
  19. Arizona is currently slotted into the #2 pick and I really don't see them winning another game. If they want to give up 3 or more 1st rounders to move up one slot, you take that offer every time.
  20. I'm fairly certain there is no possible scenario where Carolina catches Arizona in SOS. According to the tankathon site, Carolina is currently at .522 and Arizona is at .564. I know SOS can shift quite a bit from week to week, but that is simply too big a gap with only 2 weeks remaining.
  21. Holy horsefeathers, I didn't see that coming the way that 4th quarter was going. Just need 1 more loss by Carolina now.
  22. Just when it looked like New England had the game under control, Denver scores 2 TD's and 2 2-point conversions in the 4th quarter to tie the game.
  23. I don't see any way the Bears lose this game, but they would be much better off losing out. Another win is going to be a big drop in draft position.
  24. Wow, that was a close call. Come on Patriots - Find a way to beat the Broncos tonight and give us some breathing room.
  25. Dansby, Suzuki, Happ, Hoerner? As far as cores go, that one leaves a lot to be desired.
