He put his hand out, palm first, like he was trying to push Furcal or brace him. His hand got bent backwards so there could be some ligament damage which would be a problem, or he may be lucky and just be really, really sore for awhile. Wrist injuries, as somebody said, can linger for a long time. Rest is the only way to really heal it. Ideally he'd be DL'd for 15 days and come back ready to go. Why would the guy the Cubs signed to be their back-up 1B rot on the bench? Mabry's going to play. Neifi's not going to move to 2B full time while Walker plays first. Even Dusty's not that dumb. Now, Neifi or Hairston may start at 2B Friday since Mulder's going but Mabry's going to play 1B. If you want to worry about Neifi, be concerned about the fact that Cedeno is probably about two weeks away from losing his starting spot if he continues to have problems throwing the ball.
