  1. Dusty's not getting fired. His Get Out of Jail Free card is sitting in the dugout with a cast on his wrist.
  2. I'll always care. But I'll also, more often than not, be frustrated too. Every time I listen or see a game like this I'd like to kick Rafael Furcal right in the stones.
  3. Surprising lack of Neifi the last few days.
  4. I have no idea how old Pujols is. He is, however, a punk on the field, as are the vast majority of the Cardinals' key players. Rolen and Eckstein are the only notable exceptions to this rule.
  5. That's been a big difference. As has the fact they get six games against the Omaha Royals every freakin' year.
  6. They also have one hell of an offense. It will be even better when Jr. gets back. I wouldn't write them off just yet. Agreed. Their pitching does not have to be top 5 in the NL for them to win. They could be at No. 10 and win with that offense. But they won't.
  7. Puckett also played on two World Series winners and almost single-handedly willed his team to one of them with one of the greatest single-game pressure performances in my lifetime. Edmonds hasn't sniffed that and never will. And Puckett was light years better as a center fielder. Getting on Sportscenter by intentionally taking bad angles on balls and laying out when you don't need to doesn't make you a Hall of Famer. But it will trick people into thinking you're a Gold Glover.
  8. Don't you have a TV? hehehehehe
  9. Froemming is the poster child for what is wrong with MLB umpires. They are accountable to no one. It is absolutely inexcusable for an umpire to refuse to give an explanation for a call. One can only assume he blew the call and was too gutless to admit it.
  10.     Now I remember why I wanted an ignore button. So I don't have to read idiotic comments like the ones you've been spouting for the past 15 pages. Newsflash: Players lose games. Dusty made an error in the double switch, but players (namely the pen) blew this game. Hey punk, if you don't like what I post, don't read it. It's a pretty simple thing to do. But apparently the simple things escape you.
  11. The Reds, Brewers and Astros are not a threat. Realistically either Chicago or St. Louis will win the division. Focus on the Cardinals. The other three will take care of themselves.
  12. Well, despite their idiot manager, they've played .600 ball for 20 games. Do that for the rest of the year and they make the playoffs. Dusty lost this game today. If you want to be mad at somebody, be mad at him.
  13. Can't PR for Blanco. Barrett's unavailable today.
  14. Hank walks. Ok Mabry, make up for the two runs you cost us.
  15. Neifi's really working to get that strikeout. Grounds to second. One out. Why does he even bring a bat to the plate?
  16. 7-5? Yeah, 7-5. THey only got one in the ninth.
  17. You can't assume everything would have stayed the same. Nevertheless, a terrible decision. Why did he pull him? Anyone know? For a double-switch even a Little League manager wouldn't make.
  18. So what's it gonna be? Three-pitch K or weak grounder to short on the first pitch for Neifi? I say three-pitch K.
  19. Agreed 8 walks today DUSTY deserved to lose this one today.
  20. And the game is only tied if Dusty doesn't pull Jones.
  21. Let's recap here: 1. Dusty double switches at the wrong time. 2. Jones comes out. 3. His replacement, Mabry, misplays a ball Jones would have caught. 4. Three runs score in the 8th instead of one. 5. Mabry singles, but could have done that just as easily as a PH 6. Pitcher Dusty brings in on the double switch only throws one inning thus negating the need for the double switch. 7. Cubs only score two in the eighth 8. Neifi leads off the ninth.
  22. actually PH Blanco Mabry Nope, it's Neifi Blanco Mabry Baker double-switched again. Neifi's at second.
