How this guy gets paid to write about baseball i have no idea. In an article about needs at the deadline he offers this gem...... Chicago Cubs What They Need: Nothing Center field remains a trouble spot, but the Cubs have enough bodies to play the hot hand and leverage match-ups. As for the rotation, Sean Marshall has settled in nicely at the back end, and the bullpen, after some early season fits and starts, is also pitching well. Jason Kendall's anemic bat isn't any sort of solution at catcher, but the Cubs are obviously done tinkering with that position. So from this do we conclude.. a) he knows absolutely nothing about baseball or b)his love for the cardinals and hatred for the cubs are both so high he can't be bothered to write anything worthwhile totally unbelievable from a so called national expert on baseball. This guy makes Phil Rogers(trib) look like a baseball genius

If someone points out again that we never should of traded Barrett i think i might headbutt my pc!!! It was clearly not just Z who didn't get on with Barrett. Floyd made a statement about someone in the clubhouse' not being part of the family, we don't want that guy here' the next week Barrett is traded. Issue over we couldn't keep Barrett without causing major issues in the clubhouse. Kendall is not ideal but outside Pasada (cue Vance!!) who else could Hendry of looked at without giving up significant prospects?? you want Salty from the Braves? kiss goodbye to a combination of Marshall/Hill/Pie/Veal/Gallagher. It would probably of taken 3 of those guys to get Salty. I agree that Hendry needs to do more and get us an upgrade at RF,CF or SS but we're really no worse off than we were before, and most importantly we're winning!!

I really don't mind this deal at all. He is going to gain the trust of our pitchers and should provide better at bats down the stretch than bowen/Hill. I know it's easy to say Soto will outproduce Kendall in every single way but can you guarantee that in a playoff run?? That would of heaped the pressure on to Soto to produce. I still feel we're 2 away from the promised land. We have to find someone to protect A-Ram if Floyd isn't up to it and i would like to see a vet SP for the final few months. Would this work?? Cubs Get Griffey Jr and Bronson Arroyo + Cash Cin gets Gallagher,Murton,Jones and eyre

Ok i'll fail miserably first........ I'd like Hendry to bring in Gange and Lofton, we'll end up with another vet reliever and a bat for the bench ie nothing that will help send us over the top.

Everything that needs to be fixed with the cubs showed up today. No power with runners on base, not enough RH hitting so we make another crappy lefty look like Cy Young, 0-0-0-0-0- from our pathetic hitting catchers. Total inability of Howry to do anything good and also the fact that we have a 22 man roster if you take away jones-izzy-eyre.

I'd sure like to see how the pirates have played other teams in th NL central compared to us. They seem to play us hard whatever the standings, maybe the cubs just have a way of making crappy teams look good.

This team will not win with this black hole at catcher. Fix it Hendry and not with Hank after his rehab start.

I would like to see the cubs ask about Rios, Willkin will obviously give hendry a good report , can he play Cf?? if so he would be a definete upgrade on what we have. What would it take? Murton and a solid prospect?? -
if you read my post moonlight you would of seen my first suggestion was he's injured. I'm not saying he doesn't want to play well this year just that he may be done with this org and already decided he wants a new challenge. nice hit by the pitcher by the way.

That must be it moonlight , i'm dumb know nothing about baseball just spen thousands of $$ travelling over to chicago each year to watch the cubs. I'm just looking for reasons as to Z's peformance cos you sure aren't going to tell me everything's normal.

Ok if not wanting to be here how about believing his own press with things like i'm going to win the Cy etc?? like i say he may just be injured but he sure isn't pitching anything like his ML career so far.

Talk about the game....$300 million blah , blah. If he had to watch the 162 games we did last year he would of begged the cubs to spend $3000 million!!

'get a custom fitting. don't buy a driver for the name or off recommendation, unless it's recommendation by the guy who just gave you the custom fitting' thanx, i guess as i'm 6"6 it might be an idea to get custom fitted!!

i was worried big time but at least he's getting over 90 with good movement, much better...........
