    This is a great idea and i absolutely love this lineup Soriano Lugo D-Lee Aram Barrett Murton Derosa Pie Obviously the huge ?? is left handed hitting. That lineup could really struggle against tough righties but what a dynamic exciting group that would be. Pie would have zero pressure on him and could concentrate on learning his position.

    Nothing except that quote, Lots of talk that he is here to play right field, i think the cubs see him as a trophy to be paraded in RF. I would of thought he is far more valuable at CF. I don't understand why he feels so comfortable leading off , i would love him to hit 5th but i'd rather have him in the lineup than not.

    Just heard Hendry on ESPN1000, Sorianos here to lead off. Cubs offered that as a guarantee in a deal. It was so important to him that was one of the major reasons he signed here.........to go with the other $138million reasons he had............ 8)

    No way we deal Murton, he's going to get a chance to bat 2nd behind Soriano and in front of the mashers. He could have a very good year. I like the sound of some articles suggesting trading izturis and going for logo that would make me smile. Then i'll wait for olney to tell me we should of kept izturis to catch the ball.

    Whilst i think that Hendry overpayed for Soriano i'm sick of reading Olney and Dianne Perry(spot the mistake!!) bash the cubs whatever they do. If hendry sits and lets Aramis go and then signed Matthews Jr and Huff would these 2 of praised him for saving $?? Of course they wouldn't and if Schmidt or Zito had signed what would they say when the inevitable injury strikes? i suppose that would of been hendrys fault too. These 2 are not baseball reporters they have a passion for cubs bashing and i'm bored of it.

    Olney......... If the Cubs were so willing to overspend on a couple of guys in the name of pursuing a championship, why didn't they overpay to land Barry Zito, Jason Schmidt and Jeff Suppan? Overpay to land suppan?????? Talk about making a point ( i believe some of his points are worth consideration) and then shooting yourself in the foot. What about the idea of us having flex in the payroll 2-3 years from now as Gallagher and Veal enter the rotation??

    Just got in from the Bears game (lots of people here in London very confused about a guy jumping around in blue and orange!!) all i can say is OMG, OMG,OMG 8 YEARS???????????? :shock: Can anyone give a short description of the previous 26 pages??!! I also have a question( don't know if anyone has asked) why did he not offer this kind of deal when Beltran was up for grabs??

    Buster Olney and Rosenthal now talking about the cubs trading Barrett for pitching. Apparently Colorado have asked for Rich Hill in exchange for Jennings (not happening) Would Atlanta do something like Barrett and Prospects for Hudson and Jones??

    PrimeTime, I don't want to get on you or anything and i'm not going to pull each post up and dissect it. I pretty much disagree with everything you've said. Especially the bit about Slappy and jock having solid years. The way the chicago media dissed ramirez for his play those 2 deserved it 10 times over. Slappy for believing nothing else matters but getting 200 hits but getting away with his jelly arm and endless groundouts just because he 'works hard'. Jock for his pathetic baserunning and inability to ever make the right throw EVER. Baseballs a game of opinions that's what makes it such fun, i mean who would of ever thought that the cubs would hand out $$ like mum with the cookie jar??My other half says we are the cutest team because we find a home for all the mis-fortunates who no one else wants.....i give up!!!

    Who needs a Catcher? if we could market Barrett as the best available?? If you pair him up with our Gold Glove SS (christ thats starting to get on my [expletive] everytime Jim speaks) and an arm such as Marshall or Marmol that seems like an attractive package.

    Hendry would be in the driving seat for manny. the more $$ Hendry is willing to take the less in players it will cost.

    I really don't mind about Hendry overpaying (it's his MO) What i do object to is he never overpays quality players. At least if he threw a bucketload of dosh at Drew or Soriano you can argue if they are worth it or not but what you can't doubt is they would definetely help this team win. We will be the '06 cubs all over again we've just payed $15mill more for the pleasure.

    Mr Prior will at least be happy. Maybe he'll try and get healthy so he can throw to Blanco and not Barrett. Levine also mentioned that Meche is next on hendrys list, oh good........................ :(

    Not sure where i got this from but Derosa will earn$5.5 in his final year. At least his signing won't give Hendry an excuse to bail out on Soriano. I can see us going as high as 5 yrs $90 mill on Soriano with an option for a 6th year. If we were to get Lugo Cedeno,Izturis in with Jock or a couple of prospects might get us something nice from someone dumb like.............Jim Bowden??!! Jones,Izturis,Marshall for Kearns,Church?

    Lugo,Soriano, one SP through FA and a trade for Westbrook or Jennings would at least give me hope for '07.
