  1. He probably would love to hit at least one at Bud's house!!
  2. The Cubs don't analyze that particular stat. They just don't over rate that stat. Fox has some power and that is what they are looking for.
  3. India, and never Oh, yea I forgot, Lou doesn't like him for some reason. Anyone know if Murt did something or said something to make Lou hate him. He played poorly and when he shows he can play, he'll be back. Very simple.
  4. Heck, half the team has been DFA'd at one time or another!!
  5. Skip Bayless is a useless idiot. Why else could someone lose a sportswriting job in Dallas, Chicago and San Francisco.
  6. I'd rather take a chance on Johnny Bench. His career numbers are better. I'm sure you would.
  7. Kendall is a terrific cather and calls a great game. "He has hit .297 in his last 25 games, and batted .286 in Interleague Play this year. " He has always had a better 2nd half. This is a great trade, a terrific rental player for a minor league relief pitcher. I can't see anything wrong with this deal at all.
  8. GET THOSE OPTIMISTIC NUMBERS OUT OF HERE! I guess you would rather have Bowen, Hill and Soto. I'll take a major league catcher any day.
  9. I think sending him down is an alternative too.His wife makes a good buck with her acting career. Who is his wife? Julie Bowen, on Boston Legal.

  11. I'd like to see K's w/RISP.
  12. Skipping both Zito and Schmidt were outstanding moves, even though he was blasted for both non moves in the offseason.
  13. No, just the highest bidder that meets MLB requirements.
  14. The SLM deal didn't fall through yet. The buyer is worried about legislation hindering student loans. You probably should read the details, the problem has nothing to do with financing.
  15. I totally agree with you. His self promotion is getting really funny to listen to.
  16. In baseball partnership groups, the limited partners really have no say. This guy's group is local, has deep pockets and is the type of group baseball wants. that being said, anyone buying the team will run it like a business. No one spends big dollars to lose a lot of money. This guy is no fool and has been very successful. Google him before you trash him. http://www.redorbit.com/news/business/541838/madison_dearborn_founder_builds_team_of_assets_since_1993_company/index.html
  17. As far as Williams, yes he is asking for top talent for his free agents to be. I guess he will have them all year, if that's the case. I'd rather the Cubs bring back Sammy to platoon with Floyd.
  18. What song is that? I'm thinkin more. . Dunn-Dunn-Dunn, Dunn. . . Dunn-Dunn-Dunn, Dunn. . . . . . DUNNNNNNNN! Where do you suggest playing him? He'd be no worse defensively than our current RF. Nonsense. He's already the worst LF'er in baseball, he sure won't get better in right. The Cubs certainly don't need him.

  20. Odd how that works. (stupid really) Lilly, Hill, Buerhle, and Marshall have all shown they can retire RH'ed batters yet it's an assumption that hitters will get better after seeing too many LH'ers in a row. Yet, it doesn't apply to RH'ers despite the Cubs going with 5 RH'ers for much of the last 25 years. Baseball's backwards thinking at its finest. If a LH'er has deception, can locate with movement and has an out pitch, he can do well if the entire team was LH'ed pitchers. But when most are similiar in the stuff they throw, it is hard to throw 4 out of 5 days. Sorry, it is good baseball thinking, not backwards. You need to show batters different looks..
