  1. 6th round pick for the Cubs is Neftali Rosario, a Puerto Rican HS catcher.
  2. I'm just happy we got to pick #3 before I didn't like one.
  3. Washington is definitely trying to stock up.
  4. Surprised we got Vogelbach in the 2nd round. I always kinda assumed he'd be more in the sandwich. *rimshot* *crickets*
  5. Wow. That's completely non-Wilken. He must really LOVE the bat.
  6. Pirates just started off Round 2 with a bang. Damn.
  7. I like Purke, but I'm gonna be angry if we use a 2nd round pick on him and he doesn't sign pretty easy. There's just too many guys who still have big ceilings and should be signable... and don't look like they need shoulder surgery. I'd be willing to spend on Bell or Norris though. Edit: Also, definitely liking the Baez pick more with everything I read. Then again, given my mancrush on Junior Lake that still persists, that shouldn't be so surprising.
  8. And who would you have picked?
  9. 32 walks to 3 strikeouts. I know high school numbers dont mean much and so there's some mixed reports on his plate discipline, but I think its best we withhold judgment on that until we've seen him play some games professionally.
  10. Who else is out there worth spending big on? Maybe Bell? Bell sent a letter to all the teams pleading not to draft him because he's going to school. Asking for a $30 million bonus is negotiating. Telling teams not to bother until 2014 is not. The rumored pricetag to get him away from his college commitment was 5.8-6.2 mil. I'm not saying he's worth anywhere near that much. But he was probably a bit better than Baez... just not 3-4 mil better.
  11. Mahtook is the classic low ceiling, high floor type. Safe, but wont be a difference maker. We can buy these guys in free agency every year. Baez has the chance to be something really special... the bat speed is unreal. He probably wont stick at short, but there's still some very good upside with him.
  12. Who else is out there worth spending big on? Maybe Bell?
  13. Not complaining at all. Edit: Also, called it like a full minute earlier than Keith Law. I'm a badass.
  14. Same. There's a good 8-9 guys I'd be okay with. And yet I'm still scared shitless.
  15. I think I'd rather have the Cuban guy.
  16. Something in my gut says no. I think it's gonna be Mahtook/Springer.
  17. Damn. We're gonna do something stupid.
  18. Looks like Rendon is going #6. Hope for a signability pick at #7, Bradley at #8, and that would leave Archie for us.
  19. Mariners take Hultzen #2 overall. That's good for us.
