  1. No kidding - my team sucks but I'm still going to try to knock off Rodelo this week. 5 minutes, simply 5 minutes a day is enough to manage a team and keep a legal roster. If we appoint a commissioner, they can have the power to act for teams when that manager is on vacation, busy, or whatever the case may be. We need 4-5 new owners, a full-time commissioner, and simplify the rules so that the system can handle them.
  2. I got a notification last night of a request for trade right before the deadline. When I went to the site, I couldn't access it (not sure why). I tried to check again this morning, but the deadline has passed. Is there any way I can view that offer to properly reject or accept ?
  3. Just a heads up, from June 28-July 11, I will basically be off the grid on vacation. I will try to set a reasonable lineup, but would ask a commissioner powered person to watch for starts violations and if so, feel free to move guys around. My team has gone from good, to ok, to shitty mash unit. I will follow up on any trade requests when I am back.
  4. It appears you made an honest mistake where you had four players on injured list and two on the bench. Since it wouldn't have impacted your roster at all to be legal, I'm fine with just adding the points back in. Can you calculate what you should have received? I'll add them back in. Here's what I think I've got: Pitchers Kershaw = 6 Sanchez = 17 Humber = 3 Moore = 33 Arrieta = 26.5 = 85.5 for those 5 missing starts Axford = 7.5 (he's currently at -10.5 and should be at 3) Casilla = 7.5 (he's currently at 4.5 and should be at 12) = 15 for those relieft appearances 100.5 total pitchers Hitters Posey = add 7.5 to get to 14 Davis = add 6.0 (mid-week insertion due to injury) Uggla = add 2.5 to get to 8 Jeter = add 2.75 to get to 13 Rios = add 20.5 to get to 24 Duda = add 1 to get to 11.75 Joyce = add 1.25 to get to 10 Reynolds add 3 to get to 30 44.5 total hitters Team added points should be 145. Can you confirm how many days my roster had this issue ? I want to make sure I have the numbers right. Feel free to confirm. Sorry for the trouble.
  5. It appears that my team is missing a bunch of points this week. Only 2 starts and 88 ab, when I obviously had 6 starts. Can someone look at this ?
  6. On the flip side, it makes for a costly keeper...
  7. Why not ? Something that happens every 5 years on average should be a huge haul.
  8. Last season, the Dealers had the highest points scored and the highest points scored against in the regular season (Weeks 1-22). After winning the league in 2010, I had a better team last year and didn't even make the playoffs because the opponent scored 300+ almost every match up. It goes in waves.
  9. If that were to happen, does that mean he goes on waivers and gets picked in waiver order or is it just the first guy lucky enough to be by the computer to snap him up ?
  10. Those players alone are marginal for one of those...Price or Cabrera. To make it fair, both the 1st and 2nd round ML picks and would have to be traded - minimum.
  11. Agree. Otherwise, I call [expletive] on that trade and don't think it should be allowed.
  12. Yes - but only if the added DL spot is max two, 60 day DL spots March No I also vote to eliminate fielding errors from scoring.
  13. Nothing like a little white dude with intangibles to tug at the heart strings of Cub fans. He's somewhere between a Doug Dascenzo and a high-ceiling Dave Roberts.
  14. 28 pitches, 5 K, 2 IP tonight in P'tucket. Shoulda drafted Teix!
  15. We will have to vote on this, but I think 3 is a good number. If you want to stash players, use reserve spots.
  16. Kemp played 1 game and he's back to the DL. I picked up Daniel Nava to play OF.
  17. East continues the dominance with a near sweep in Week 8. The e/w matchups continue this week. For the Dealers, we have Kemp and Reynolds due to come off the DL tomorrow or Wednesday, so will have a couple lineup swaps to make on those days.
  18. Rob Neyer's early work for ESPN.
  19. I watched a few Japanese games last week in Nagoya. Four general observations: 1) Everyone has that leg kick back and hold for timing (but I believe that forces them to over-commit on offspeed pitches) 2) They swing at a lot of breaking stuff in the dirt 3) Japanese umps call lower zone strikes 4) Incredibly sound on defensive fundamentals
  20. 5 of the top 6 scoring teams are in the East. Seems like the AL East. My team is a mash unit.
  21. It's Koyie Hill's world and we are all just living in it... :banghead:
  22. Can suspended players be substituted for mid-week ? I don't recall the ruling on this one.
  23. Yeah, it would, since the game yesterday counted. Terrible job by the Rangers organization of starting a game with a storm 30 minutes away. Unfortunately, this costs you a start in the process...
  24. Josh Hamilton. [expletive]!
  25. I don't see the Sox sending Middlebrooks back to P'tucket. He has already obliterated short A, A, AA, and led the Int'l League in everything this season prior to his promotion. He is going on 24 and it's time for him to stay at the ML level regardless of Youkilis situation. Youk's inability to stay healthy and Middlebrooks performance have forced Cherington's hand.
