  1. So I jumped into this "King Of The Mountain" pool in RTSports. It's a $15 buy in and you get two teams. Over 4000 teams competing for one prize payout, which is $25K. I lost one team in week 4 and my other team is still in going into next week. We are down to 28 people left. Each week, the bottom third in points scored gets the boot. You get one QB, one RB and one WR/TE to score fantasy points based on carries/catches/passes, yardage and TD's. You cannot use the same player twice during the season. It's going to get real tough for the remaining weeks. Especially in the playoffs, where you have to scrape the bottom barrel for anyone to get you some points because you probably already used most of those guys during the regular season. Not a complaint mind you. I just thought it was cool to make it to the top 28 and needed somewhere to brag about winning nothing so far. LOL.
  2. I saw someone suggest that the Bears trade the 2nd overall pick (assuming that's where they end up) to the Lions for both of their first rounders. While I'm not sure if the Lions would be willing to trade both of them, they have to be a team willing to move up to get one of the prize QB's. And one of those picks could still put the Bears in play for one of Carter or Anderson while improving draft capital by trading back. Interesting idea. I woke up in the middle of the night last night and Draft Day was on, and now I can't wait for the draft. Maybe it's more because nice weather..... Chicago sports isn't going to be fun until baseball starts.
  3. The Rams plucked Zach Thomas off of the Bears practice squad. I'm guessing he was never really was considered part of the future with the Bears anyway. Have to figure there will be at least 3 additions to the OLine this offseason. But how bad can the Rams line situation be that they are plucking a practice squad guy off of the team with the worst offensive line in the NFL.
  4. That was painful to watch. Now that I live where I can watch all of the games, I'm finding it difficult to sit through some of these games. Yuck.
  5. LOL no, but that team is just a mess. The top defense in the league they told us about before the season allowed 27 points, despite getting a redzone turnover and a stop inside the 2 on 4th down. And Rodgers was extremely inaccurate on some pretty pivotal throws, but I'm sure the WR wasn't in the right spot. I was reading that the Packers organization is actually blaming Rodgers for the slow development of their young receivers by not showing up for OTA's, and that his salary dictates he be there for all organizational functions.
  6. Only saw glimpses of the Packers game. Anyone sit on Aaron Rodgers' face again tonight?
  7. Was Jaylon Johnson playing hurt in that game? He got beat consistently yesterday. I thought I saw him leave the game early at one point and came back. I'm assuming that if he was back, he wasn't anywhere close to 100%.
  8. i thought it was strange how early in the Miami game Fields was hitting open targets 10-15 yards downfield early in the game, but those passes stopped as the game progressed. Maybe Miami made adjustments that took away those open receivers, but with Miami putting a spotter on Fields to protect against the run, I would have thought more 10-15 yard pass plays would have been available. Maybe it was just the pocket breaking down too early. But, that's where I think a better OLine will help Fields even more. He's a threat to run, but with some protection, i think he will have his pick of targets in the open field. I can't wait until there is a complete offense to let him do his thing. Now to avoid being killed by Hutchinson this week.
  9. I mean there it is as you quoted, completely different words! I read your post as saying you didn't think the offense needs to be upgraded. It's exactly how it reads whether you agree or not. I see a need for one more playmaking WR and at least 2 OLinemen. By adding 2 linemen, I believe you turn the line into a strength as they will also now have respectable depth at most of the positions.
  10. if you want losses you're gonna have to deal with them giving up 35 points lol I specifically don't want the opposing team to get 35 points. 36, 37, hell even 60 is fine. 35 pays out in our 3/35 pool and that's no good unless it's the Falcons.
  11. This week was pretty legendary in my fantasy league. Most of my usual starters were on bye or hurt this week, so I had 5 Bears (9 total scoring positions) in my lineup. Fields, Montgomery, Kmet, Bears defense and Bears kicker. And I won by 26 points. Hahahaha! I'm starting Fields in my King Of the Mountain Survivor league. Started with over 4000 entries and I still have one team in the final 100 playing for $25K.
  12. While I am 100% in for the tank for the rest of the season for best possible draft position, it still makes me mad when they have a game within reach and an outside force denies that opportunity. Putting those two PI calls side by side, there is absolutely no way you can call the one against the Bears over the one the Dolphins committed in a potential game winning drive. I would definitely be issuing a complaint to the league office. The final score was exactly what I'm hoping to see going forward. Maybe not allowing 35 points would be my one request, unless they are playing the Falcons since I have them in my 3/35 pool.
  13. Also nice that Fields will have half a season to work with this group. I'd say that alone is worth the difference in values between the 2 second round picks. So Mooney, Claypool, Harry, St. Brown, Pringle and VJJ is certainly starting to shape up the receiver room. I'm guessing when Pringle comes back, Pettis will be a goner. St. Brown, Pringle and VJJ are all easily replaceable next year if they wish to add more depth here. As been previously stated this move is an affirmation that Fields has shown enough, and it is awesome. Think I saw something about Pringle returning to practice this week, believe, we've at most, two more games with Pettis as a Bear. Poles will still probably pick a WR on day 2, press conference yesterday, mentioned surrounding Justin with as many weapons as possible. I wouldn't be opposed to that. We know that Mooney and Claypool are starting caliber WR's in the NFL. I can't say any of the others fall into that category. We hope Harry will be one, but he was let go for next to nothing for a reason. I surely hope Poles was the smartest guy in the room when he took a chance on Harry and Leatherwood. Playing time will tell.
  14. It's definitely going to be fun this offseason discussing how Poles intends to improve this team.

  16. He actually used more of them last year. So, I wouldn't necessarily say they won't use them all. I could see more trade downs in this draft to stockpile even more picks. I could be wrong, but I felt like the Bears improved their draft position a bit already after the games this past weekend. I honestly don't see many more wins for the Bears going forward. The only winnable games are Atlanta and Detroit twice and I don't really think they will win any of them. A top 5 is very realistic.
  17. He might murder Fields You can put Borom down for a bad PFF score already. He has no chance of containing Parsons.
  18. Johnson was the defender on one of the td throws last night. But he wasn't really beaten on the play. It was just a perfectly thrown ball that Johnson missed by inches and hit the receiver right in the hands.
  19. Seems a bit horrifying for the Hawks to be matched up against the Avs for everyone to see on TNT. I guess I’ll watch it.
  20. Without Jaylon Johnson, this one might get ugly. It might get ugly even with him.
  21. I also believe the failure of the offensive line is starting to get into Fields' head. When you have progressions to focus on, but you can't trust your line to give you time, you start getting happy feet. Some of those plays on Sunday he seemed to take off before there was actual pressure, even though the defense was already in the backfield, and Fields would jump out of the pocket before he really needed to, IMO. To me, that's a lack of trust that the line will give him the time to throw. That's just an added failure of his protection.
  22. Not much I can add here that hasn't already been said. I'm hopeful that something good comes from this season. But it is very tough to watch. Fields must lead the league in hits that draw roughing the passer/late hit penalties. That guy is probably slowly losing his marbles on the hits alone. Yikes.
  23. 1st London game of the year this weekend. Long day of football.
  24. Their depth chart lists Richie James, Wan'Dale Robinson and David Sills as their starting WRs. Weird because Toney, Golladay and Slayton are still on the roster but they all appear to be in the doghouse. Shepherd, James and Sills had the most snaps yesterday. Golladay had 24 snaps, Slayton 14. Toney is hurt, but potentially could be back this week. Golladay had two drops from the 3 targets that went his way. Zero catches. It was said that he had his best practice as a Giant leading up to week 3's games, which probably explains his 24 snaps in comparison to only 2 in week 2. Seems like he's already checked out with his team.
  25. I really hate defending Brady, but he had his WR group out today. That said, he’s been looking more like late career Peyton Manning the past two seasons. As bad as Tampa looked, it wasn't on Brady at all. Most of the turnovers were by his offensive weapons after the catch. Evans, Godwin and Julio Jones all sat in this game. Brady needs to send out the bat signal for Gronk.
