  1. I'd be surprised if they put Fields third on the depth chart. Foles was a nice insurance policy until they were able to get their guy, but now that they have him, it would make sense to find a taker, even if compensation is minimal.
  2. I absolutely didn't want to trade up and spend a ton of draft picks. But, given that Fields fell to the 11th spot and isn't costing anything of great value beyond next year's 1st makes this a dreamy scenario. I don't hate Pace. I hated the trade up for Trubisky. I don't hate that he drafted Trubisky, but trading up was beyond stupid when there were two other QB's they could have settled for if someone was bold enough to jump the Bears with the 2nd pick. Other than that, he hasn't done well with top picks, but he's been solid with late rounds and UDFA's. I wish there was a way to save Anthony Miller. Fix the Oline a bit more and draft another WR (maybe Schwartz) and see what you can do with Robinson, Mooney, Miller, draft pick, Goodwin and Ridley. Miller has f'd up plenty, but I still think with better QB play he could be an asset for this team. If they best you can get is a 6th, just keep him and settle your differences.
  3. Can’t be true. Simply must be wrong. Can't think of what Andy Dalton sounds like, but I'm sure I'd prefer him hosting Jeopardy over Aaron Rodgers. Worst guest host ever!
  4. Feels like the Cubs are anxious to just get this game over with.
  5. Still top of the 5th two hours and ten minutes in is quite painful. I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if the Cubs were winning.
  6. Once the first round spree is over, Pace will have his choice of guys in the later rounds with Trask, Mond, Newman, Mills, Ehrlinger, etc... I'm still actually expecting him to trade Foles somewhere and get one of Garappolo or Minshew.
  7. I'm having a tough time imagining the Cubs making the division series with Baez and Bryant both batting like Neifi Perez and the best starter having a bad season. But, hey, I'll take it.
  8. Vegas will be a tough ticket considering it will be the first year for fans.
  9. Loyola Chicago looks better than an 8 seed. Their record even reflects that.
  10. Nah, you have a playoff spot locked up. The bottom half of the Central is non-competitive Well, in 9 days the Jackets caught the Blackhawks. Didn't see that coming Feels like the Blackhawks played the Lightning 5 times in the last 9 days.
  11. I was reading that there might still be a chance that Fuller can be traded. The article I was reading implied someone like Fangio could come calling with a 4th or 5th round pick to get Fuller. Not sure if that is true, but it would be nice to get a draft pick out of this somehow.
  12. If you like Dalton now, why didn't you go get him last year? He signed to be a backup to Prescott, where there was less likely of a chance of winning the job as opposed to Trubisky. They spent a draft pick to get Foles. I just don't understand the logic. The carousel continues.
  13. I wasn't as down on Skrine as others, but that was probably the most obvious cut. He's not getting any younger and finding someone to play average nickel at less money shouldn't be that difficult. Callahan was probably better than Skrine, but the switch from Fangio to Pagano probably hurt the defense worse than the slight drop off in production at nickel.
  14. Awww, someone got rejected for an autograph. That's what you took from that? Go look up his tenure at OSU (where he was tied to Zach Smith) and what a douche he was as coach of Texas. I wouldn't want the autograph of the guy, and I don't know why you think I would That is what I took from that, but in a joking manner.
  15. Counterpoint: he's kind of a horsefeathers bag Awww, someone got rejected for an autograph.
  16. I read all kinds of ideas, and even find some interesting. One guy is adamant that signing Winston makes way more sense than trading for guys like Mariota, Minshew or Darnold. Notice that left out in this discussion is Watson and Wilson. He says a year working behind Brees, having surgery on his eyes and working in a different program makes him more appealing, especially since he won't cost you draft picks. Brady did much more with the Bucs than Winston did, but they also added quite a few pieces to improve Brady's chances of success. That's not saying Winston could have accomplished the same thing if he was the QB. But, what could he have done with that lineup? I saw another interesting comment that Mariota will likely get released if no one trades for him. The amount of money he's scheduled to make as a back up this year is better money spent elsewhere for the Raiders. Mariota has incentives for play that could boost his pay to closer to 20m if reached. Even if you don't unload Foles and you do get someone like Mariota, Winston, Minshew or Darnold, you probably still want to draft a development guy like Newman, Pickett or Mond. I don't think an Alex Smith/Nick Foles qb room would be all that horrible, but you definitely want a young guy who can step in since both of those guys have injury concerns. I do think that an OT and a WR are important pieces, while also figuring out a way to retain Robinson. If you can find a stud receiver to complement Robinson and Mooney, which pushes Miller to a 4th on the depth chart, I think you have a solid receiver base. Whether Pace can find the guy who can extend his GM career is unknown, but there are plenty of options at play. He's gambling on his career for sure.
  17. What's his beef with Seattle? But yeah, I'll take him for a boatload of Pace 1st rounders. Still think we end up with Minshew or Mariota.
  18. I haven't really studied what is wrong with Darnold, but I've always been under the impression he has had quite a miserable supporting cast. Looking at PFF, the Jets OLine ranked 26th in '18, 28th in '19 and 29th in '20. I can't name a Jets TE. I can only think of Jamison Crowder as far as fantasy impact WR's. And their starting RB this year was Frank Gore. With that said, I'm torn on who I would rather have between Minshew, Darnold and Mariota if we want a reclamation project. If I had to guess, Fitzpatrick is probably better than all three of them. So maybe get Fitzpatrick and one of those three and let them battle it out for the starting job. This would be assuming they really can trade Foles somewhere.
  19. I feel like Pace isn't just going to easily cough up draft picks with whoever he goes after. I think he knows he needs a Tackle and it will take a first or second rounder to get one. He also knows he has to watch the cap space. Rumors are floating that ARob isn't going anywhere, so fitting ARob and a high priced QB will likely cause some other roster casualties besides Skrine, Graham and Massie. I suppose he might cough up the draft picks for Watson, but the current asking price might be more than he's willing to go. Not to mention all of the doubt about whether he actually gets traded, and the ridiculous amount of teams that want in on any Watson trades, which severely reduces the chances of being the lucky team. Outside of Watson, I'm guessing Pace will be very protective of his draft picks.
  20. Wentz is #3 on my list behind Watson and Carr, since I don't believe Dak will be available, and I'm also pretty concerned about his injury recovery, so I'm not too overly concerned about overpaying a little bit. Between the 50 sacks in 12 games and no one to throw the ball to in Phily, I think Wentz will not only bounce back, but he'll have a chip on his shoulder after the way Phily benched him last year. Draft a T in the first round, resign ARob and with that extra pick, draft a developmental QB and I think the Bears are in about the best position they can be given the circumstances. I don't think Wentz is a franchise QB, but I don't think this current roster as currently constructed needs a franchise QB to be successful. The window is closing on the defense, so attempting to improve the QB play before it closes is probably the most important move this team can make.
  21. I'd like to point out that Wentz has had way less weapons in his arsenal over the last 3 years. Outside of Zach Ertz, he's had nothing. This isn't my attempt at justifying giving up too much for Wentz, but rather that he's better than Trubisky.
  22. Even though they seem set to land a big name, I think they end up with one of Garappalo, Bridgewater or Winston. If not Watson, I'd like to see them get Carr. But, I don't know how serious LV is interested in moving him.
  23. Since 2016, The Rams have received Jared Goff, Sammy Watkins (15 games), Marcus Peters (22 games), Aqib Talib (13 games), Jalen Ramsey, Brandin Cooks, Daunte Fowler, Austin Corbett, Kenny Young, Matthew Stafford, two 4ths, a 5th, three 6th's, a 7th rounder and whatever Detroit gives up in trade with Stafford for: Jared Goff 1st Rounders- 7 2nd rounders- 4 3rd rounders- 4 4th rounders- 2 5th rounders- 3 6th rounders- 1
  24. Drew Lock's only real playing time has produced numbers worse than Trubiskys worse year. So I guess if the idea is to tank next year, Lock is definitely the guy. But hoping for a come around..yeeeesh Lock was just an example. But I do disagree with your assessment of his potential (his season was pretty bad though). The point was, if the Bears don't come up with 1 sure option, they then need to come up with 2 lottery tickets....1 via FA or trade and 1 via draft. Lock had the worst WR supporting cast of any QB in the league. At one point, rookie Jerry Jeudy was his only target of any significance, and even he was running wrong routes and dropping passes. I'd take Lock over Trubisky in a heartbeat if the Broncos make a big splash.
  25. The receiver situation in Philadelphia has been much more putrid than the Bears during the Wentz era. Ertz saved him from having no one to throw to at times. I'm on board if Phily was willing to move him. Doesn't seem all that likely if the new coach wants Wentz to stay.
