  1. We should be hearing soon that the Bears will be on this year's Hard Knocks. I know some don't want the extra pressure of media, but I think it will be good tv this year.
  2. Maple Leafs are one of 5 teams to never play a game in June. Seattle, Minnesota, Columbus and Arizona are the others. Maple Leafs have been around since 1927.
  3. After that error, my wife says “ that pitcher is junk and their 3rd baseman is Dunn.” I agree.
  4. Cubs starters have given up 68 runs in 169.2 innings. 24 of those belong to Hendricks. Cubs bullpen has given up 82 runs in 133 innings. This doesn't factor in how many of the starters runs the bullpen allowed to score.
  5. What are the current SP and bullpen ERA's as a group? Seems like the starters have been incredible (minus Hendricks and a Ben Brown start) and the bullpen, well................
  6. I've been passionately defending this bullpen, but I'm ready to punch someone in the face.
  7. 50% seems pretty good, but hell, my insurance company's rate increase this year was 44%.
  8. I was immediately curious how many times guys have been cut down with relay throws when tagging up at 3rd. I can't recall ever actually seeing it before where it happened like it did last night. I can imagine one where a runner had to come back to tag up late thinking a ball wasn't going to be caught and being slow on getting back to the bag to tag, but one where the runner was going on the catch is one I had not witnessed before. It was perfectly executed.
  9. This same bullpen will have a month or two of being one of the top 5 bullpens in baseball. They had hot streaks last year. You need a mix of not getting overused or underused. Early in the season, starters are still getting stretched out. I'm not saying that they shouldn't or won't make some moves at the deadline, because frankly, they will need to make some moves because of the abundance of talent they won't be able to protect next offseason, but some of these guys that have been bad will be better with more reps. I'm not concerned about the bullpen at all. I have grown a bit tired of the 9th inning follies, but it will correct itself in due time.
  10. Maybe the fact the runner got beaten by a relay throw factors into the equation. That's some slow ass running.
  11. Somehow, we have to thank Chase Claypool for being a hot pile of garbage, because somehow his inability to be something helped convert the WR room the Bears have now. We love you, Lovie Smith! We don't hate you, Chase Claypool! And Ryan Poles? Dude, keep cookin'! That was an entertaining interview. I'm not sure I'm ready to buy in that Rome is the best receiver on this team, but damn, how exciting to think about it?
  12. Mine only does that on the first page turn on each thread visit. After the first one, it goes back to the top for all subsequent page turns.
  13. I took a break from watching the Cubs last night, except the occasional look in while the wife was busy doing other things. So on my brief views, I saw Wisdom throw a pick off attempt into centerfield. I then saw Dansby throw a grounder to 1st base and I watched someone crush an Alzolay pitch into another state. I'm sure other parts of that game were better than what I witnessed, but damn. Horrible timing to witness that nonsense.
  14. You aren't thinking about all those times the Stones and Taylor Swift are scheduled in Chicago on the same day.
  15. I was kinda hoping we'd never have to punt ever again after drafting Caleb and Rome.
  16. While I'm in total agreement with you here, I do think they did a pretty good job of trading back in since this guy was a top 30 talent that slipped to the 5th. Seemed Poles always liked that guy, so it's surprising that he took Taylor in the 4th instead of Booker. But I'd say it worked out pretty well. If Fields can beat out Wilson for the job in Pitt and play 51% of the snaps, the Bears get that 6th rounder upped to a 4th, so no real loss IF that happens.
  17. Troy Taylor, the punter was not traded up for. The stuff you are talking about is for Austin Booker, the EDGE rusher they got in the 5th. Taylor ends up being part of the first overall pick trade last year, as that was the pick we got from Phily for swapping places from 9 to 10.
  18. He's drunk. The Bears always had that pick as 122.
  19. Cutler is the only guy I think had a chance to be great with this team. But, just as you just said here, Martz and that OLine was Cutler's kryptonite.
  20. Someone posted one of his tweets from 2020 where he suggested they get rid of the entire Bears OLine. They are all gone, just as he hoped. Huge Bears fan.
  21. Kiran maybe makes Borom a cap casualty. Bears can save 3m by cutting him. Bears visited the big guy pre-draft and seemed to be pretty enamored with him. I read that if he wasn't injured last year, he projected as a 2nd rounder. Atlanta may have pushed Poles this direction after they drafted Trice right before the Bears.
  22. Anyone know why the Astros manager got tossed yesterday? He seemed to be having a normal discussion with the ump and out of the blue, the ump ejected him. I thought the ump was calling the balls and strikes pretty consistently, even if I thought he was getting a little bit crazy on the high strike. The one to Madrigal was crazy high, and to the shortest dude on the team. Madrigal couldn't have hit that ball if he had a step stool. Anyway, the Astros manager must have made some suggestions about the ump's mother.
  23. Atlanta already has Drake London, Rondale Moore, Darnell Mooney and they have Pitts still, so I wouldn't have expected them to take a WR there. I read that Atlanta's defense ranked last in the league last year and they lost two of their better defensive players, so defense made the most sense for them there. That they took a QB there is insane.
  24. I might have swapped Dansby and Busch in that lineup. Is Busch trying to do too much hitting cleanup? Because he hasn't looked too good there since he was given that job. Other than that, I see a sweep today.
  25. There is if the Bears don't draft him. I hope we take Odunze, but there are a number of directions Poles can go here, and I'm not sure any of them would be the wrong choice.
