  1. Maybe the fact the runner got beaten by a relay throw factors into the equation. That's some slow ass running.
  2. Somehow, we have to thank Chase Claypool for being a hot pile of garbage, because somehow his inability to be something helped convert the WR room the Bears have now. We love you, Lovie Smith! We don't hate you, Chase Claypool! And Ryan Poles? Dude, keep cookin'! That was an entertaining interview. I'm not sure I'm ready to buy in that Rome is the best receiver on this team, but damn, how exciting to think about it?
  3. Mine only does that on the first page turn on each thread visit. After the first one, it goes back to the top for all subsequent page turns.
  4. I took a break from watching the Cubs last night, except the occasional look in while the wife was busy doing other things. So on my brief views, I saw Wisdom throw a pick off attempt into centerfield. I then saw Dansby throw a grounder to 1st base and I watched someone crush an Alzolay pitch into another state. I'm sure other parts of that game were better than what I witnessed, but damn. Horrible timing to witness that nonsense.
  5. You aren't thinking about all those times the Stones and Taylor Swift are scheduled in Chicago on the same day.
  6. I was kinda hoping we'd never have to punt ever again after drafting Caleb and Rome.
  7. While I'm in total agreement with you here, I do think they did a pretty good job of trading back in since this guy was a top 30 talent that slipped to the 5th. Seemed Poles always liked that guy, so it's surprising that he took Taylor in the 4th instead of Booker. But I'd say it worked out pretty well. If Fields can beat out Wilson for the job in Pitt and play 51% of the snaps, the Bears get that 6th rounder upped to a 4th, so no real loss IF that happens.
  8. Troy Taylor, the punter was not traded up for. The stuff you are talking about is for Austin Booker, the EDGE rusher they got in the 5th. Taylor ends up being part of the first overall pick trade last year, as that was the pick we got from Phily for swapping places from 9 to 10.
  9. He's drunk. The Bears always had that pick as 122.
  10. Cutler is the only guy I think had a chance to be great with this team. But, just as you just said here, Martz and that OLine was Cutler's kryptonite.
  11. Someone posted one of his tweets from 2020 where he suggested they get rid of the entire Bears OLine. They are all gone, just as he hoped. Huge Bears fan.
  12. Kiran maybe makes Borom a cap casualty. Bears can save 3m by cutting him. Bears visited the big guy pre-draft and seemed to be pretty enamored with him. I read that if he wasn't injured last year, he projected as a 2nd rounder. Atlanta may have pushed Poles this direction after they drafted Trice right before the Bears.
  13. Anyone know why the Astros manager got tossed yesterday? He seemed to be having a normal discussion with the ump and out of the blue, the ump ejected him. I thought the ump was calling the balls and strikes pretty consistently, even if I thought he was getting a little bit crazy on the high strike. The one to Madrigal was crazy high, and to the shortest dude on the team. Madrigal couldn't have hit that ball if he had a step stool. Anyway, the Astros manager must have made some suggestions about the ump's mother.
  14. Atlanta already has Drake London, Rondale Moore, Darnell Mooney and they have Pitts still, so I wouldn't have expected them to take a WR there. I read that Atlanta's defense ranked last in the league last year and they lost two of their better defensive players, so defense made the most sense for them there. That they took a QB there is insane.
  15. I might have swapped Dansby and Busch in that lineup. Is Busch trying to do too much hitting cleanup? Because he hasn't looked too good there since he was given that job. Other than that, I see a sweep today.
  16. There is if the Bears don't draft him. I hope we take Odunze, but there are a number of directions Poles can go here, and I'm not sure any of them would be the wrong choice.
  17. So have we determined that Happ is out for awhile, or will he be available today?
  18. I read there was an interview with Caleb and when asked who he felt the Bears should draft at 9, he apparently suggested Fashanu. I'm actually surprised there hasn't been more talk of teams trading up to 6-10 for OT's. But, if McShay is predicting 10 first round trades, maybe that's where the trades happen.
  19. Arizona is saying they have 4 teams interested in trading up, but they won't pull the trigger until it's their turn to draft. I'm guessing it's Minny, NYG, DEN and LV. Of those, I'd say the only teams that have a chance to slide up to 4 are the Giants and Vikings. I'd give the Giants the upper hand, as I think the Chargers could still get the second best WR at 6. By holding out to draft night, you know the Cardinals GM will be upping the bids by playing the teams against each other for the rights to McCarthy. Minnesota has 2 first rounders, but that's it for this year, and I don't think they really want to use them both. Minny could offer up Jefferson though. That could move the needle back to Minnesota. It's going to be a fun draft.
  20. Yeah. I'm having a small draft party. Most of my friends are daytime drinkers (we are all retired) and like to be in bed sleeping when it gets dark. I'm a homer every year, but I'm going to be an annoying homer this year.
  21. I feel like Poles can't really go wrong if he stays put. He'll know he will need to be making impact picks given the shortage of picks. While I'm sold on getting a WR, I wouldn't hate it if he got Alt, Verse, Turner, Latu or Bowers. I don't think Allen is only here for one year. I think they work an extension for a total of 3 years here, where Poles can work the cap space to fill the remainder of holes with players that can help this team right now.
  22. I'm all in on a Lavine trade. Not sure what they can expect to get in return for him, though. Everyone in the world saw the Bulls actually played at least as good, if not better, when Lavine wasn't in the lineup.
  23. Minnesota or the Giants will be picking 4th, depending on who makes the best offer. MHJ is going to the Chargers.
  24. Some argue Nabers is the better prospect. At the same time, I have found it interesting that Harrison seems to be attempting to tank his value to move down in the draft. No visits, no pro days. Just hanging out at home and wanting to go anywhere other than that top teams.
