  1. No kidding. He isn't going to last long at this rate.
  2. Almost forgot, while I was on the phone cancelling my Insider subscription, the guy on the other end said they are currently running a special that knocks the price of Insider down to 29.95. I doubt they were ever going to tell me this. Give new people a better deal and keep screwing over the old subscribers. It wasn't enough to keep me. :D
  3. It's actually the 7th. Shows how much I've been paying attention. What little value that I thought Izturis provided is long gone.
  4. I'm impressed that Lou went with Theriot at SS yesterday with Marquis on the mound. I think that's the first start this year for Marquis where Izturis wasn't at SS.
  5. Well, that mistake just cost ESPN $40. When I couldn't log in, I sent them an email through their comment section that basically just said that if Ben Sheets sitting on my bench on Saturday ends up being the difference between a win and a loss, I will be cancelling my Insider subscription. Sure enough, I lost by less than the 33 points Ben Sheets would have scored for me. It isn't just this one thing. It's been a lot of stuff building up. I called ESPN this morning to cancel and it was kind of cool to be able to name all the stuff that I can't stand about ESPN and the guy took it pretty well. I now have an extra $30 bucks (prorated refund) to spend on something better than ESPN Insider.
  6. Matt Cain's ERA is almost 80 points lower than Zambrano's, and he's got 2 wins and 9 losses. (3.38 ERA to Zambrano's 4.20)
  7. Are there any guys out there that aren't worth the ink on their 10m check? If Jones and Izturis are going somewhere, that's probably who it will be for.
  8. We have a $70 million payroll. It's not great, but it's not awful either. Narron needed to be fired about a month ago. It's about time. He was by far the worst manaer in baseball. Yeah, but you have to admit that it's kind of funny that the GM of the Reds has the audacity to fire the manager when he should have fired himself first.
  9. Yep, my Bonderman/Wainwright boner cost me a win this week. Wow.
  10. Anybody ever hear how their walk out worked out?
  11. I picked the Mariners to win their division at the beginning of the season. LAA had a better rotation, but I felt the bats that Seattle assembled could keep pace with the Angels. Something must be up with Hargrove.
  12. Thanks to 3 home runs so far today, my offense has held up the 10 point lead I had going into today with 0 starts against 2 starts. Hope all of my closers get some work today. But, I'm still predicting that my Bonderman start that I can't use will be the difference between a win and a loss.
  13. I don't think Barrett was moved because of his poor defense. I think it had a lot more to do with the Cubs just wanting him gone. I wouldn't expect the catching situation to be any better with Hill/Bowen.
  14. I take that back. 2 of the steals last night came off Josh Bard.
  15. The same Barrett had 5 guys steal out of 5 attempts the day before with Chris Young on the mound. One of those steals was Russell Martin stealing 3rd. Barrett was never good at blocking balls, but he's been absolutely brutal this year in regards to passed balls. And 3 guys did still bases successfully against Barrett last night, including Luis Gonzalez. So basically, he nailed 1 out of 9 in the last 2 games.
  16. Eyre could not do this without burning himself to the ground, considering he is a gasoline can.
  17. I sorta always thought that the NBA had more time off between games because it's a much more energy draining sport and needs more time between games for rest. I doubt anyone takes issue with the length of the NBA regular season. It's when they extended playoffs and nearly half the field qualifies to play in the post season that people lost interest. That and Michael Jordan retiring from the Bulls, which was my reason for giving it up. :D
  18. The Brewer's bats must be extremely tired about right now. Cubs win this game.
  19. I most certainly feel the love.
  20. I win the dumb manager of the week award. I meant for Halladay and Bonderman to take my last two starts this week, so I put James Shields on the bench and replaced him with Adam Wainwright just to keep a full 5 pitchers active. Lo and behold, I look at Live Scoring today and Wainwright is scoring points. Well, he was scoring points. So now I have to bench Bonderman since I burned his start with Wainwright, who got me a whole 1/2 a point. Yee haaaa.
  21. Sure wish Cub bats could hit lefties like the Brewers do.
  22. We can still hope Cordero blows it again in the 9th. Any chance he could give up 9 runs before they take him out?
  23. Called the toll free ESPN fantasy baseball phone number and am expecting a call back. I'm sure they know about it already. But, just in case.....
