  1. ooohh...the nets make a lot of sense.
  2. Considering I would give a kidney + a nut for Lebron, I can more that live with breaking up this nucleus. Bye Gordon, bye Deng, try to sign Noc and Kirk but if not, BYE. Hello Lebron.
  3. Yeah Jake. What happened between Duke and Colburn? I don't actually pay much attention to the Pirates unless the Cardinals are playing them...no offense.
  4. I'm guessing it's a lame Fat Albert reference.
  5. HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN A PLAYER PERFORM BETTER IN THEIR PRIME YEARS? EVER? Whiner. Unfortunately, if Albert hits more than about 65 homers, the steroid question is going to be asked, since the other three guys who eclipsed that mark all have serious questions about how they did it. Very true, but since he has been doing things no one has ever done before in his career thus far, I hope more people give him the benefit of the doubt. It's not like this guy was a top of the order table setter who morphed into a beast (Sammy), an injury prone lanky homerun hitter who morphed into a healthy beast of a man (Mac), or a skinny 5 tool player who's head, neck, and chest plumped while he cooked (Bonds).
  6. THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED TO ANY OTHER TEAM EVER! I'M SO GLAD I'M A CARDINALS FAN TO BE PRIVELEGED TO SEE THINGS LIKE THIS BECAUSE THEY ARE SO MEANINGFUL!
  7. Hey guys, Cardinals rookie reliever just homered in his first ML at bat. That means he'll hit a homer next at bat right? You know, because he is 1-1 with a homer? That's how percentages work right?
  8. HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN A PLAYER PERFORM BETTER IN THEIR PRIME YEARS? EVER? Whiner.
  9. The U.S. census Well apparently he satisfied them enough to make him a citizen and also survive the post 9-11 age MLB age revelations.
  10. Wouldn't PO many Cards fans. Most of them are sick of Ozzie whining. :?: Not a single one of the many that I know. I know plenty including myself. <---- This has been going on for a while and this is the first public shot I've heard from Tony. Ozzie and Whitey Herzog have been digging at him since he got here.
  11. Or Latin players in general? "I didn't make it off the island by walking. I did by hitting." -Vlad Guerrero
  12. What?! Ozzie Guillen ran his mouth in the press?! What?! He loves attention?! I'm so shocked. He is such a tool. That being said, what he said about Dusty is pretty funny. Also the AAA player making comments is unneeded.
  13. From Rob Neyer's latest email bag: Not trying to troll. Just thought it was valid to the point, and I'm sure not everyone is aware of it. Pierzinski is well documented as the most obnoxious man in baseball, but this is Barrett's fault. The only thing Pierzinski did that was remotely out of line was slap the plate. If that is enough to incite the leader of a team (as well as one of the last remainging viable offensive options) to throw a punch, then the player either has anger issues or there is something else behind it. I think that something else is just Barrett's competitive dissatisfaction with the team. Doesn't excuse it, but it does explain it.
  14. I don't know what any of you guys are talking about. The Cardinals clearly need more speed and now that it is warming up in St. Louis, Juan Pierre's leg muscles should loosen up nicely if he were to be traded to the Cardinals along with Rusch for Pujols and Carpenter.
  15. What the hell are you talking about Cubbie Rich? I'd paste the entire interview you are talking about, but I think there is enough Pujols content on this site. Nothing in the interview was combative or whiny. He was just answering questions OTHER PEOPLE ASKED HIM. Turns out ESPN just took what they wanted from the interview and left the rest. http://www.stltoday.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=359957 That's the complete interview. Pujols: First off, how is that mouthing off? Secondly, he is an American citizen. In order to apply for such, you need your birth certificate. He obviously presented that. Since his emergence in baseball, people have investigated the validity of his birth date. Nobody has found anything to prove it is false. Get off it.
  16. No doubt, but he didn't.
  17. I'm going to let you have it. I'm not even going to say anything other than that.
  18. I know most of you won't care about this, but we had an incredibly informative chat with a sabermatrician who works for the Cardinals front office detailing how they evaluate FA's and I believe there is a section in there on Eckstein; specifically how he was undervalued. http://gatewayredbirds.com/viewtopic.php?t=1119&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0
  19. Ahem *her* I believe.
  20. You are correct sir! Well congratulations to us then. Isn't Albert GREAT?! Puts a smile on my face just saying the name. I know you also post on CardsTalk, correct? I post there frequently. Check your pm's.
  21. That's why they were only mentioned once. Yeah, none of them are stars but I covet Jonny Gomes and Scott Kazmir in particular.
