  1. Or at least one year. I think a lot of it has to do with them wanting to be able to sign or trade for a good starter and not wanting Carp to feel undervalued if the guy makes more than him.
  2. This is the perfect defense for Rex to play smart and get off the shnide in. Terrible D-Line for Benson and Jones to run it up on and then when we load the box to stop the run, our corners can't hang one-on-one. If Turner calls a smart game, the Bears could score a lot of points. That could be important with no Tommy Harris, possible no Vasher and the fact that Steven Jackson is the best back in the NFC.
  3. OH KENT OH KENT OH KENT OH KENT OH KENT Dear heavenly Kent, Thank you so much for being benevolent and allowing my favorite team to win the world series. Thank you because it was your lingering presence from the 1998 and 1999 seasons that possessed Jeff Suppan and Jeff Weaver and allowed them to outperform their career norms for the duration of the post season. Or as I should say, the Kent season. If you do indeed decide to allow my team's arch rival to sign you, I still praise your wisdom and power. I willfully and faithfully obey your wishes and if you see it in your benevolence to bless the Cubs by leading them to the ultimate prize in the kent season, then I will praise your greatness still. In your name, AMEN
  4. Grossman, although if you make the switch, it has to be for the rest of the season including playoffs. That means you have to do it asap so Griese can get a rhythm with the receivers.
  5. Which is what he has been getting during the 4 game win streak. Maybe not a coincidence.
  6. Or Ryan Howard can keep it. I guess I should have clarified. I meant each Pujols vote should go to the NL Central. I know. I'm tired of all this. It doesn't matter, and there are a lot of Cardinals fans out there who are actually upset. It is tiresome.
  7. Or Ryan Howard can keep it.
  8. I'll let someone else take this one.
  9. Are we really going to make this non-issue into a huge thread? Maybe the questions were leading and maybe out of context, but if he is too dumb to realize that saying that Ryan Howard didn't deserve the MVP would lead to some bad press than thats his fault. Here are the two options as I see them. 1 - Dick move. 2 - Misunderstood and dumb. Both aren't good.
  10. I miss humble Albert. Albert, maybe you're right but shut up. Nobody wants to hear it. Congratulate Howard on his great season and shut up.
  11. Yeah, and I still think they are very good at their jobs. Paxson has put together a team full of talent, they just aren't playing well together right now. I still say they are one of the top gm/coaches combo in the NBA.
  12. Ha ha, Bruce for the win. CT should apologize to Bruce, lol. i call for a str8 b& Yes, but first he should apologize for all nearly 9000 of his posts.
  13. I like this deal a lot. If he has his arterial issues behind him and can get back to near the pitcher he was from 2002-2003, 4 mil will be a bargain. Hopefully they don't make it obvious that the #5 slot is his to lose, and hopefully he comes to spring in great shape. Duncan loves to resurrect these ground ball pitchers.
  14. I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but I have heard that his no-trade clause is for the first three years of his deal only. After that they can trade him. I don't know if this has been confirmed yet though.
  15. I doubt Wandy starts if they can help it. Jason Hirsh looks like a possible stud, Taylor Bucholz isn't too terribly good or bad, and now Woody. I bet they re-sign Pettitte.
  16. AP can't opt out, thank Him. contract details What is gross to think about is that he signed the 8 year deal at age 24. This means he will have just completed a season still in his prime at 32. It's a real possibility that the Cardinals won't be able to afford what he will be offered. Hopefully they'll offer a somewhat competitive package and he'll stay.
  17. Check earlier this thread. They suckered me in now, BTW. You'll never guess who I am. For some reason I thought you were already over there. Now I see you. Yes, very different name/avs/etc.
  18. http://www.gatewayredbirds.com Created by NSBB's very own CardsFanInChiTown.
  19. He is also intangibly a winner. As evidenced by the ring.
  20. The fact that Pecan isn't an option is greatly distressing.
  21. You're damn right. Also Totinos; what it lacks in taste, it makes up for by being 99 cents.
  22. Never underestimate Illinois or Michigan State.
