  1. From Yahoo: Landon to forward and Benny to the midfield. I didn't know Benny was out of the 11. Thanks for the injury, Bry.
  2. two words: Rafael Palmeiro That argument only works against non-cubs.
  3. The whole secret to this inaccurate perception is that Jocketty is more willing to take on reclamation projects than Hendry or other gm's. He'll sign 5-6 projects a year, throw them against the wall and see who sticks. Spring training weeds most of them out, early season performance gets the rest, then all you're left with is Ryan Franklin, Cal Eldred, Chris Carpenter etc.
  4. He should just retire. If he absolutely wants to keep playing, just retire to MLS.
  5. So are you guys. That's my whole point dude.
  6. I said I'm not going to list them. It'd be a gigantic waste of time to look up all these stats trying to illuminate the obvious facts you seem to be in the dark about. As for Nunez, I never said the Cardinals haven't gotten lucky with players. I just said the Cubs have too.
  7. Lol, denial. I have just as good excuses for the Cardinals you guys list, but there really would be no point. Some of you will never realize that there is nothing special going on with the Cardinals. They have just put better teams together than the Cubs for the most part since 2000. Both teams have had great luck with players (pujols, lee, etc) and both have had bad luck (Prior, Wood, Ankiel, Kyle, etc). You guys aren't special. You just follow a poorly run team.
  8. It's sad to us because it's so ridiculous how this keeps happening. You can feel free to come up with counter-examples from our own team though. Matt Clement, Joe Borowski, Sammy Sosa, Jon Lieber, Mark Bellhorn, Ryan Dempster, Michael Barrett, and I'm sure many, many more. don't forget aramis ramirez And year one of the Glendon Rusch era. More than cancelled out by Years 2 and 3. (That's our own fault, by the way. Stupid Hendry.) Ok, Derrek Lee, Ted Lilly, JASON MARQUIS, Matt Murton, Jacque Jones, Eric Karros, Mark Grudzielanek...

  10. Yeah, what did happen to him? I haven't heard crap about him all year. He was in Memphis for most of the season this year and was not hitting very well. I believe he had some sort of leg injury that has him out the rest of the year. The leg injury is true, but the hitting badly isn't. .375/.500/.875 I for some reason thought that he wasnt playing all that well. Either way I dont see him having much of a future with the franchise. With Schumaker and Ludwick doing well this year, I think those two have moved ahead of him in the organizations eyes. Yeah, he is done with the big club.

  12. This is a sad, sad thread. Yeah, what did happen to him? I haven't heard crap about him all year. He was in Memphis for most of the season this year and was not hitting very well. 13. It shouldn't be a problem if everyone just updated their rosters after they make their picks.
  14. The goal was fantastic obviously, but moreso I loved the attitude standing up to Terry. Showed some balls. Altidore is the real deal Holyfield. I'm seeing an $8 mil + transfer fee next year. He'll go to a big club.
  15. It's my pick, right? Tony Romo and Vernon Davis. Everyone update their rosters after they pick. It's hard telling who is available.
  16. "He can play anywhere in midfield - left, right or in the middle - and he has a few goals in him. One thing he certainly doesn't lack is confidence - he is American." -Derby Manager, Billy Davies Nice one, Bill.
  17. Reyes ERA+ 151 since all-star break. I was wrong about today, but TOMORROW it is O-V-A for the Cubs.
  18. Head's up, Feilhaber's transfer is complete and could be in tomorrow against Tottenham.
  19. Are you really confusing Spiezio and Ankiel or are you just typing things for the hell of it?
  20. maybe they wanted to get him away from the team before ankiel got there Makes sense, although I don't think Ankiel is doing that stuff anymore. Ankiel used to be on that stuff? Wasn't it his father that was an abuser? Yes. I don't know if Rick did or not, but I know his dad did.
  21. It's Blooper time, ya'al. I hope you're ready, because the pain is coming.
  22. Hahah, we'll see mr. wolf We've scored 26 runs in the last three games. I'd be worried if I was you. Do you think I care that your 4 best pitchers are going to face us? NO Do you think I care that our 4 crappiest pitchers are going to face you? NO WE WILL ROCK YOUR S, MY FRIEND. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy your posts but I find it rather funny that you were MIA for a long time here and now that the Cards are currently on a winning streak you show up again. I moved from my apartment in Illinois which had cable internet to my parents house in Arizona which has dial up, so I spent far less time on the internet. I just couldn't handle it. Now I have a job with high speed and a lot of time on my hands from 6:30 am - 4:30 pm so the posting is back up to high levels. It has not much to do with baseball.
  23. Trash talking Cardinals fans are generally frowned upon here, but its wolf so I guess thats ok? Lighten up, wolf is fun. This series is gonna be like a fight between two skinny teenagers. Probably neither deserves to win, but it'll be scrappy, ugly, and fun to watch. Yeah, I'm just messing around. I've been saying the Cubs will win the Central all year. I still think so. I actually don't think this weekend's series is going to go well for me. Marshall, Hill, Z and Lilly are much better than what we are going to slop up there.
