They're talking about a bronze statue of Preki outside of the new stadium. They'll build him a statue but they won't give him a head coaching job. OnGoal has made noises about Boxing and Lacross and such. Maybe not literally playing in SKC's stadium in some cases, but organized by OnGoal through Sporting. I know they've talked about a Rugby team too. I think I'd check out a Rugby match or two. I love the White Caps new kits. Replaces Philly's as my favorite in the league. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_cm7dPnQPGv4/TOWrM9cSWCI/AAAAAAAABpY/TcnpOGmpw0g/s400/demeritvancouver.jpg
All that really matters is the financial stability they get selling to Americans. This is correct: This is a better name than the Wizards. MLS has a long history of lame, lame names. This one is about a 3 on the offensive scale to 10. THE WIZ LATER THE WIZARDS! THE BURN! THE CLASH! THE MUTINY! REAL SALT LAKE! Awful.
Sounded like a nice goal, and he scores for country in his 1st match without Diego. Suck it oompa loompa. See for ya self. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2010/11/video_lionel_messi_scores_wond.html
http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/news/_/id/5764564/anguish-gale-agbossoumonde Gale Agbossoumonde: A Cautionary Tale Dude spurned offers from Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Real Valladolid because he didn't want to move to Europe at 17. Told them he was signing with MLS, didn't like the money MLS offered (Of course they're cheap, duh. Get a better agent) and signed with Traffic Sports USA, a branch of a Brazilian company that buys player rights as a third party, a la the debacles with Tevez & Mascherano a few years back. Now he can't get a club to sign him. They loaned him to Braga for 6 months on a reserve deal. Within two games they signed him to the senior squad. After the loan ended they wanted to buy him outright. Unfortunately the new owners would not work with Traffic for reasons that are unclear. This senior National call up looks like a desperate attempt to instill some of the lost confidence and optimism in the kid. Get him back on track. Hopefully it works out because he looks like a real deal prospect. Some immature decision making combined with some bad advice has turned into an unfortunate situation for an important player in the US' future.
Landon was anonymous. So was Beckham. Dallas' wingers kept them pinned back and their central midfielders bossed the match. Landon has looked gassed for a solid month now and it cost them in the end. MLS is the real loser. No LA, Seattle or NY = no ratings.

I'm not sure because my Spanish is pathetic for someone who took 4 years in high school, but I'm pretty sure this article says that Andy Najar's dad thinks Andy is leaning towards the US because our country gave him the opportunity for a better life, supports him in the refinement of his game and wants him to play at a big club in Europe and will help him do so. http://www.latribuna.hn/web2.0/?p=205112 From what I can glean: DC United is working hard to get Andy trials with Real Madrid and Arsenal who are both interested, Thomas Rongen and other US coaches have come to see him play and have expressed an interest, the Honduran federation called him up for a friendly v Panama but hasn't come up to see him actually play, the US has the advantage because of what they can offer in terms of player development and professional contacts abroad compared to Honduras. I absolutely have never thought we had a chance. The citizenship process will take a few years and this kid is too good to keep on the sideline that long. If we pull this off though, he is every bit as talented and much more refined than a similarly aged Landon Donovan. Edit - MLS Insider has a good translation: http://mlsinsiderblog.com/?p=4094
Worth mentioning, Alex Zahavi was called to the upcoming U-20 camp. This is notable for a few reasons. Because he has been capped u-17 by Portugal, because he has spent time with Barcelona, Arsenal, Benfica and Sporting Lisbon's youth squads. He might be just a youth legend that pans out into not much on the senior side, but he's clearly ambitious and has a pedigree that no other American player does. Either way, poaching him from Portugal, who projected him as a future senior international, is a coup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Zahavi
I think Zakuani is going to try to play for England. http://www.thenewstribune.com/2010/11/08/1414927/uncertainties-ahead.html Says he isn't sure he'll be back next year. I think he'll try to move to the PL with a mid-level club and work his way in. I think he can do it too.
http://www.thisisamericansoccer.com/us-mens-national-team/the-ten-shirt/#more-3589 A new novel about how with a little less bad luck, soccer could have thrived here. Looks interesting.
He said he wants one more as a player in MLS and then back to Boca Juniors to coach. So our Eastern Conference finalists are...a team in Denver and a team in San Jose? Do better, MLS. Edit - HAHAHAHA http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/6569/89652025.png
http://voices.washingtonpost.com/soccerinsider/2010/11/oguchi_onyewu_reportedly_invol.html There's video out there of Ibra kicking Seedorf in training. A BS poster brought up the potential racial factor in this trend which wouldn't be super surprising from an Eastern European-Swede, not that I want to stereotype, I just wouldn't be surprised.
So reports out of Milan today say Ibrahimovic went in a little too hard on the big fella in training today. Gooch got up, grabbed him by the throat and punches were thrown. I love it. I pray there is video. Apparently it was open to the public.
