  1. Eh, going into the playoffs this year there were like 8-9 teams you could’ve made a legitimate case for winning it. Good grief. As they say, "C'mon, man."
  2. I guess I'm "'get off my lawn' guy". Under the umbrella of "I can watch any sporting event no matter what", the modern NBA is painful to watch. So painful. The other thing is that the slate of teams that could win the NBA championship in a given year is much smaller than it is in any other sport. Very unappealing.
  3. Not trying to be a total downer here, and I think I'd still say that AK and company are a huge upgrade over our prior front-office regime, but I'm increasingly pessimistic about the roster construction and our near- to middle-term prospects as far as playoff success. This speaks volumes about the absolute dumpster fire that is the modern NBA. The worst American professional sports league and it isn't even close.
  4. I'm assuming his name is pronounced mu-LAY? That's correct. It's actually myu as opposed to moo.
  5. It will be fun to watch the Rangers get their asses kicked by the Astros for years to come.

  7. Davis, Herz, Caissie, Palencia, and the minor league shortstop of their choosing for Soto.
  8. Yeah I tend to think Canario and Pinango are the most expendable guys on the farm among the top 30 types. Canario is expendable now with the 40-man crunch (and I’m just not that high on him). I'm the opposite. I'm not trading Canario in any sort of "clear the decks" move. Way too much "boom" potential. I hold him until he busts. The minor trade assets that I miss out on are expendable for that trade-off.
  9. It's a new market inefficiency.
  10. Craig, I'm ashamed of you. Wicks, Wicks, Wicks. Top 5 for sure.
  11. Jensen is on the Dillon Maples "short arm" development track. Since he started from a much better place, I'm hopeful.
  12. All I want is for Mervis to magically become Jim Thome. Never mind that he's a 24 year old at AA and Thome is a HOFer who was in the big leagues at age 20. Dreams are not reasonable.
  13. So far, in June, he's got the always fun OBP < BA.

  15. According to Arizona Phil, Espinoza will be optionable in 2023.
  16. Will someone please put Ryan Willis on suicide watch? When you are deemed less valuable than Nathan Peterman...well, what is there to live for?

  18. Shuffling of the bottom of the roster: 05/09 Signed LB Christian Albright, DB Jon Alexander, LS Antonio Ortiz, DL Carson Taylor, DB A.J. Thomas and RB De'Montre Tuggle. 05/09 Waived LB Jaylan Alexander, DB Amari Carter, WR Landon Lenoir, LB Ledarius Mack, WR Savon Scarver and RB Master Teague.
  19. The idea of extending a not-exceptional corner outfielder is absolute insanity. Have we learned nothing?
