Everybody gets tendered a contract by me. If you do that, you can carry Ortega and Wick into spring training just in case of injuries. Their contracts won't be fully guaranteed until after spring training. Otherwise, DFA and outright the others as free agents are signed to major league deals.
I read it more like that trait is going to become less valuable relative to other hitters going forward in a no-shift era. Other hitters are affected greatly by the shift, him not so much. With no shift, his results won't change as much as those of others. Seemed like a strange take in evaluating a player on his own.
Option 1. Offense, offense, offense. Please, please, please. Actually, I'd prefer BOTH Turner and Bogaerts, plus a 1B/DH bat. Then go bargain shopping for pitching. While acknowledging that this isn't realistic.
I've been thinking about this for a couple weeks now and I just don't get it. I'd certainly kick the tires on Fuller, dump one of Pettis and/or Smith-Marsette. Don't kick Fuller's tires or he'll get hurt.
It may not be good if an offensive lineman can play only when a rushing play is called. The defense may be able to detect the play call by whether the OL is in or not. #Mustiphermustgo
It sure seems like DH is where you could add a significant amount of power with a shorter term deal. Jose Abreu. J.D. Martinez. Add one of the shortstops. Trade for Danny Jansen. Slowly fold Mervis and Davis in. Big influx of power, even subtracting Contreras.
I'm rooting for Seattle, but, in the end, it doesn't really matter. If they win, they are going to get stomped like a narc at a biker rally by the Astros.
