I would rather it was just $$$$ Me too, but not for 4 or 5 years. I suggested Scott Elarton for a 2-year, "low" dollar contract, but was dismissed. Actually, I'm happy with the starting pitching the way it is right now, but I'm afraid we're going to have to trade one of Williams/Hill/Guzman to get an outfielder or two or a middle infielder. The truth is, with Kerry Wood taking up 11%-12% of the payroll, we're not going anywhere if he doesn't contribute a great deal (unless we get top-level starting pitching from an unexpected source, like Hill or Guzman).
