  1. Owned. OH jeez an awkward position the quarterback is in after a sack and the tight end is on his knees. Believe me, there are some we can post with Favre and Urlacher. Who's in the Conference Championship again? It must suck to not have ever seen a Super Bowl in your lifetime. Too bad it's not 1996 anymore. Good luck with Aaron Rodgers. Nothing like stupid packer fans to divert my attention. You sure you weren't the person on the cell phone that I heard outside of Soldier Field after the game last week that said on his phone, "YEAH WE WON!!! PACKERS SUCK!" Well it is true. We did win and the Packers do suck.

  3. OH NO! Please don't cut Neifi. It will take about 2 minutes for Jimbo to resign him.

  5. Yes, except of course Mike Brown whose been gone since week 7 and won't be back. I can't decide what was a bigger loss for the Bears this year. Losing Brown, or losing Tommie Harris. Harris got all the pressure on the QB, but Brown was a pretty intimidating guy in the secondary. Everyone says Harris. I say Brown. There was a noticeable, immediate dropoff the moment Mike Brown went down. We were already giving up more than I was comfortable with, even when Tommie was still healthy. But look, we've essentially got 2 injured starters out of 22. That's not too bad. Yeah they hurt, but a team should still be able to carry on without every single starter healthy. I agree. Also, Brown's injury hurt our run D more than our pass coverage. Mike Brown was the guy who filled the gap on running plays, and once he went down our run D took a big hit. We miss them both, but if we could have only one bck for the next 2 games I would pick Brown. That said, the only way I want Brown back next year is if they add another quality safety too. His yearly injuries have a Prior/Wood effect on the Bears.
  6. This isn't related to your post, but I love the play in your avatar. I have no idea why Rex doesn't do more of that when the pocket closes behind him. He is quicker than he gets credit for.
  7. Tom House is also a self-admitted former steroids user if I remember correctly. I also remember him speaking out against roid use.
  8. I think it's a coincidence. San Diego could have and should have won, and they were a franchise back type of team. There are other split RB teams out there that absolutely stink. I don't think it's necessary to split them, but it is important to get some production out of RB. So, if you have to use mutiple guys to accomplish that, then do it. There are also plenty of bad teams who have "franchise" backs. St. Louis, San Fran, Giants... My point and yours is essentially the same, it's all about production. It is not at all uncommon to get that production out of 2 guys like the Bears, Saints, Colts, and Pats do rather than 1 guy like the Chargers, Chiefs, and Seahawks do.
  9. Absolutly. I'll go one better and tell Pie he will not be the CF in 2007, so Soriano can play CF all year. Then we can put this lineup on the field... CF Soriano RF Murton 1b Lee LF Bonds 3B Aramis C Barrett 2B DeRosa SS Izturis P --- I do fear that if this deal with SF falls through the Cardinals could steal Bonds away.
  10. I've said it before, the Saints are more of a Mississippi team than a Louisiana team. Damn near everyone I know from Louisiana are Cowboys fans it seems. This isn't intended at you OMC, but more Saints "fans" as a group... I am just sick of hearing about Saints fans in general and how they deserve this win. They deserve their homes back, jobs back, loved ones back, but not this win. The Saints have been one of the worst supported teams in the NFL in the last 30 years. It took the threat of them leaving town, and drafting a Heisman winner to sell some tickets and not have half of the stadium empty like every other year. Plus the few people who were there in the bad times were known for wearing brown bags over their heads because they were so ashamed to support the "Aints." I'm not old enough to remember the Bears Super Bowl win. Most of my Bears memories include losses, horrible QB's, and Favre killing us. That said I never remember seeing an empty Soilder Field. Bears fans deserve this win. Saints fans deserve their lives back the way it was before Katrina.
  11. Bottom line is this weekend we will need Jones AND Benson. It's not a coincidence that the 4 teams left split their carries between two running backs. I'm confident Benson can be the #1 next season with A-Pete as the #2, but on Sunday I suspect we'll see 17-20 carries from Jones, and 12 from Cedric, and that's ok. If they can combine for about 120 yards on about 30 carries, we will win this game, and that is what matters most.
  12. Oh god.. remember "Cubs 2003 NLCS Champions" sweatshirts? Or the Boston Red Sox painting the World Series logo at Fenway Park before Game 7 against the Yankees in 2003. Or the Super Bowl Shuffel in November of 1985. Oh, that worked out ok.
  13. Another win for Da Bulls 99-90 in Milwaukee.
  14. Guys, the weather will not decide this game. I hope it is cold, it could help the Bears a little bit. However if it is windy, I think that could be an advantage for the Saints because Rex trying to make big plays + lots of wind could equal lots of picks. This game will be decided by a lot of factors, but I just don't think the weather will be THAT big of a deal either way.
  15. Thats crazy. Thats like saying quarterback is even because Brees and Grossman are both capable of making big plays. There is a huge difference in the numbers between the two guys. I wouldn't go so far as to call it crazy. I would. The Bears have the best special teams in the NFL. They also have a returner who broke the NFL record for KR/PR TD's in a season. To try to claim that the teams are equal here, is basically ignoring the facts. Hey, Bush might return one Sunday and Hester might not, but going into the game the Bears have a pretty wide advantage in this area of the game. I'm not suggesting they are equal, they aren't. The Bears special teams is DEFINITELY better than the Saints. What I was taking issue with was that it's "crazy" to compare Hester and Bush as playmakers. It's not crazy. They are both highly capable of the big play, much more than the average return man. It is crazy to compare them as punt returners. Look at the numbers: Bush: 28 returns, 2 FC, 7.7 ypr, 1 TD, 3 of 20+ yards Hester: 47 returns, 12 FC, 12.8 ypr, 3 TD's, 11 of 20+ yards In 19 more returns Hester has 8 more of 20+ yards and 2 more TD's, not to mention an overall average of 5 yards more than Reggie. It's not even close. I'm not saying Bush isn't special, he is, but there is no way it is equal like the Packer fan said, or even close to being debatable. Comparing those two on punt returns is just as crazy as comparing Rex and Brees in passing. Both are capable of being excellent, but one has done it far more often than the other.

  17. I wish you had Steve, I think he is doing a great job this year. They have two players that are anything yet are competitive. I'm more than happy with Kelvin. IU hasn't played defense like this in a long long time, we are on our way to 20 wins in year 1, and he has a hell of a recruiting class coming in. I have yet to see any NBA Draft projections that have DJ White in the first round, so imagine IU next year if he returns. Starting 5 of Bassett, EJ, Ratliff, Stemler, DJ. Off the bench the rest of the freshmen, Joey Shaw, Keeling, Ben Allen, Mike White. With Sampson coaching that is a national contender.
  18. Z is going to get paid. I'm talking $140M+ paid. I completely believe you, but I don't think we have the space. Why not? I have two reasons. 1. That's another large commitment, and will hurt out flexibility in future years even more. On its own it won't, obviously, because Z will most likely be really good. On top of the other contracts, though, we have a bit of a squeeze. 2. Will the Trib okay that, especially with this sale about to go down? I realize this is basically the Maddux situation all over again, but will they let the wallet open again after this year's offseason? They might see this payroll as being acceptable. We're already first in NL payroll, aren't we? I don't believe any sale is imminent. Mark Cuban (IU grad) was speaking at a convention recetly and I know someone who was there. Cuban said he would be very interested in the Cubs, but he doesn't believe they will acutally be sold. He may be out of the loop, but thats what he said.
  19. It's ok. She wasn't hot, she looked trashy, and not just the shirt. The girls in your sig are hot. The girl in the "F the Eagles" shirt is the lead singer for a rock band at different bars in New Orleans. I've seen her a couple of times. She's more "punk" than trashy. I'll trust you, but in the pic you had up, she was not attractive.

  21. Ugly last 5 minutes, but IU still wins by 7. Thats 4-1 now in the Big Ten, 13-4 overall with the losses coming to 4 ranked teams, 3 on the road and 1 neutral site. I didn't expect Sampson to do so well in year one at IU.
  22. I think people are fussing because they don't know what is wrong with Prior (I honest to god haven't heard anything about his condition in a long time) and aren't confident he'll be ready for spring training. I think his injury history warrants extreme caution and skepticism from fans. Wait 3 more days and we'll know more. Prior will be at the Convention and on WGN Radio Friday night.
  23. Thank goodness we hired Kelvin and not Alford.
  24. Not if y'all wear those hideous orange things.....PLEASE wear the orange jerseys. The all black Saints uniform looks MEAN. I like the orange uni's, but it won't happen.
