  1. WTH are you talking about?sounds like speculation to me. Nothing in Frankie's wikipedia entry about any alleged drug use Was a rumor floating around a few years ago. My cousin was a grad student at U of I at the time and "knew" a guy. So yeah, definitely speculation. Would help to explain his inexplicable suckatude in the NBA.
  2. I think you're wrong about that. Gordon has improvements to make before he's a point guard, but he displays excellent passing abilities at the high school level. He improved in that area a ton last season. That said, he'll likely never be a true point guard, maybe a point guard in the Gilbert Arenas mode though. I look no further than his last name to make an Eric Gordon comparison. He reminds me a lot of Ben Gordon, but with better ball handling ability. Arenas is a pretty good comparison too. He is much more athletic than Ben G. EJ does winmill dunks. Against high school competition. When he does something like this in the NBA, I'll believe he's much more athletic than Ben Gordon. http://youtube.com/watch?v=7mzsazDWVcY By the way, is that Frank "pass the bong" Williams with the assist?
  3. Wright gets compared to LaMarcus Aldridge a lot. I see that more than Tyrus.
  4. At 9-10, sure. At 6-7? No thanks.
  5. That's odd. In 20 spins last night, I saw the Bulls winning the number 1 pick twice, the 2nd pick once, and the third pick once. Oden, Durant, Horford were the picks. Must just be luckier than you are. In all seriousness, I'll happily take a 4% change at Oden, and a top 10 pick in this stacked draft is very valuable. Bulls end up with Brandon Wright a lot in ESPN's mock, for instance.
  6. Yes. The Raptors are locked into the 3 seed at this point.
  7. Robert Whiting is the best-selling author of my three favorite books on Japanese baseball -- The Chrysanthemum and the Bat, You Gotta Have Wa and The Meaning of Ichiro. If you're curious about baseball across the Pacific, I can't recommend them enough. Whiting recently wrote a four-part series for The Japan Times on Japanese baseball that I just finished. I really enjoyed it so I figured I'd share. Part I -- Is the MLB destroying Japan's national pastime? Part II -- Foreign managers change face of Japanese game Part III -- NPB needs major reform, vision to prosper like MLB Part IV -- NPB players in need of strong union like MLBPA
  8. I fully expect the Bulls to win their final two games. If they lose one and finish the season at 49-33, I'll tip my cap to the Cavs (assuming they win out) and look forward to knocking Miami out in 7. I can't get mad at the team for going 20-8 after the break if it happens.
  9. At Jersey scares me. Kidd and Carter have been playing well of late. Hopefully that Cavs slip up and make that game unimportant. We will lose that game at NJ. I want no part of them in the playoffs. We just don't match up well with them at all. You'd rather face Miami in the first round than New Jersey? Bulls' strength matches up well with Jersey and the Bulls are too deep. They'd win in 5. Miami, OTOH, I want no part of in the first round. I agree completely about Bulls in 5 over NJ, and I'd much rather face the Nets over the Heat. Miami doesn't scare me, but Nets-Raptors is a much easier path to the Eastern Conference finals than Heat-Pistons. Bulls are 19-7 since the All-Star break. Angst over a road game at New Jersey seems pretty silly.
  10. Breaking News on ESPNEWS, Oden is declaring for the draft. Haven't found confirmation online yet. Kinda late for web updates, I imagine.
  11. 8.40 PER. Looks like it's dropped with more playing time. ugh, i guess i just don't get PER. It'll go up once he starts shooting at a higher percentage and turning the ball over less. We'll see improvement next year, no doubt. I just have my doubts it will be significant. He doesn't need to produce like an NBA starter to be useful, of course.

  13. Ah, I'm not a fan of simple points/rebounds comparisons either. Given another year or two to develop, I suspect Thomas' production will outpace Curry's by a wide margin on its own.
  14. How is it not fair? The Bulls wouldn't have had the cap space to sign Wallace if they hadn't traded Curry, and Thomas and this year's lottery pick were part of the package. Isiah Thomas got fleeced, which should come as a surprise to no one.
  15. Funny stuff on last night's Knicks-Bulls post-game activities.
  16. Curry is also an atrocious defensive player. I coundn't be happier with Wallace, Thomas and this year's Knicks lottery pick instead of Curry.
  17. Yeah. it's a ridiculous accusation. The Knicks scored 19 points to the Bulls 20 in the 4th, and Skiles played a reserve lineup in the final quarter as well.
  18. Assuming the teams below the Knicks will win their remaining games is a pipe dream. With Minnesota playing Dallas and Sacramento playing San Antonio, the Knicks will likely be back in the 10-11 range again tonight. I think 7-8 is the best we can hope for realistically. I'll be ecstatic if the final standing end up as listed below. The Bulls would be a coin flip away from the 6th slot. IND 37-45 SAC 36-46 CHA 34-48 MIN 33-49 PHI 33-49 POR 32-50 NY 32-50 SEA 31-51 ATL 30-52 MIL 27-55 BOS 24-58 MEM 19-63

  20. 8th from the bottom if you sort by winning percentage and not games back.
  21. Tyrus will in a year or two. Deng's working on improving his post play as well. Meanwhile, the Bulls have second best record in the east at present without that inside presence.
  22. Few draft sites take team needs into account in their mock drafts this early.
  23. Yes, all teams that miss the playoffs are in the lottery, and the Knicks have been a likely lottery team for the past few weeks at least.
  24. The Bulls have had the right to swap picks with the Knicks all season. NY could win out -- they won't -- and their pick still belongs to the Bulls.
