  1. You're a pathetic idiot. I don't see a problem with the original statement?? Jehrico's a soldier. He can and should have a problem with that statement. So that means Jehrico shouldn't be angry at rapist soldiers? Jehrico wasn't a victim of the rape. He is a victim of the movie. Most people don't have enough energy to be angry at every bad thing everyone on earth does, so we stick to things that affect us and those close to us most of the time. But tell me, nilodnayr, just how angry are you at Robert Garrison? Feel free to vent. Of course, since you've never heard of this particular rapist until now, the answer is that you probably didn't feel any anger towards him at all. Since your statement was a Non sequitur to begin with (it's about degrees of anger/caring, not absolute existence of them), I'm not sure why I bothered. I'm glad Jericho isn't a victim of rape, thanks for clarifying that. How exactly is he a victim of the movie? Is he wrongly accused of committing a crime in the movie? I'm not angry at anyone at all. I'm not sure where you gleaned that from this thread. So, I guess this dude was a rapist. La dee freakin da, hes a terrible person. That doesn't mean that I think all soldiers are terrible people. Anyone who does take that away from the movie...well, my advice would be to not give a crap what those people think because they are obviously idiots. I'm not sure why you bothered either especially when there isn't a cogent argument made, but whatever. This started with Jericho not wanting Cuban to own the cubs because he doesn't have respect for him because he financed a movie about a soldier who raped someone. My point is that I don't care what political beliefs Cuban holds as long as it has nothing to do with him owning the Cubs. Then that evolved into who is to be angry at for Redacted...Cuban or Robert Garrison. Evidently, there is a debate there. I must be missing something.
  2. Brett Tomko controlled Bale's mind and made him do it.
  3. Meh, dropping Keppinger from the 2 hole and moving Griffey in there is at best a lateral move.
  4. Yeah, I thought that was deliciously ironic as well. Sports radio is embodied by idiotic ranting and Mariotti's column is embodied by idiotic ranting. He really is the sports radio of print journalism.

  6. Isn't Sam Zell and Reinsdorf good friends? I'd think he'd have some kind of pull in convincing Reinsdorf... It definitely is an interesting string of friends...Zell is part owner of the Sox with Reinsdorf, Reinsdorf is buddies with Selig and Selig is buddies with Canning. Also, a 650M payment is due Dec 4th, so I'm guessing that is going to be a significant date.
  7. Ned seems like a guy who makes decisions based off a mix of very little information and gut feelings. I have a prediction that at some point Ted Simmons will take over for Ned within the next year. What about the defensive re-alignment and batting the pitcher in the 8th spot? Both of those (definitely the latter) were decisions based on lots of information and not on gut feeling.
  8. fixed. Hard to believe they have the 3rd best winning percentage in all of baseball, and are on pace for 95 wins. And if you look at the last 2 games they are on pace for 0 wins the rest of the season.
  9. Is he officially out for the season? Everything I've seen is that hes "likely" out for the season.
  10. We should have a smiley for pulling things out of your ass. It would be applicable here. I made a mistake about "the first offseason" thing that I just realized, but as the hosts and Levine were talking about the big spenders (Yanks/Red Sox) Levine said that he would be surprised if Cuban's payroll wasn't around 175 mill because "that's just the kind of man he is" and even went on to call him the "new Steinbrenner". I don't know if ESPN1000 puts up the podcasts or whatever, but i'm not pulling it out of my ass unless I mixed up a host with Levine, which I don't think I did. Ohh, I totally didn't mean you were pulling it out of your ass, I meant Levine was...as evidenced by your further quotes. He was just guessing.
  11. By players? Yes By Will Ferrell? Yes In commercials? No
  12. OMG Sori flied out lets drag him out back and execute him.
  13. Is it just me or does Karros look younger every year?
  14. I must apologize to everybody but we got the call from Sean about 1:30 this morning. Sean told me I couldn't report it as you all know what happened last time!!!! [-X I know Sean is looking forward to today as I spoke with him early this morning but I haven't heard anything about the Cubs plans for him. I know that he will do whatever it takes to help this team and must say again that his parents are so proud of him......... \:D/ Congrats!!!! I hope the Cubs use Sean well and he continues to perform. Hes worked very hard for this and we all wish him the best of luck!
  15. Can you rank the best cubs hitters from best to worse in your opinion? I don't mean best yesterday, I don't mean best over the last 3 years. I mean best from today to the end of the season.

  17. OK, I don't mean to dig up an old thread (is 2 days old?), but Deadspin and FJM are 75% comedy blogs and 25% sports blogs. I don't understand why this point wasn't made. People don't go to those websites for the news, or to have intelligent discussion (although FJM uses intelligence as a vehicle for comedy), they go to laugh their asses off. Theres nothing wrong with them, but don't call them sports blogs, because they aren't.
  18. Hes probably most valuable being traded.
  19. One thing that I'll give credit for is Yost is willing to listen and learn. Batting Kendall 9th and the pitcher 8th after being shown that it will result in more runs scored is indicative of being open minded and pragmatic. Yost makes a ton of in game mistakes, but at least I'll give him that.
  20. Ummm, what if he does? Is Ronny Cedeno going to continue to hit as well as he is right now? They are both hot, they both should play. What exactly has Theriot done to lose his job? I don't think that the Theriot/Cedeno "competition" is really a problem for the Cubs right now. Soriano batting at the top of the order is the problem. The Cubs had a good thing going with Johnson/Theriot at the top. What was the Cubs leadoff OBP after Soriano went down? I didn't feel like doing the math, but as a leadoff hitter, sori had a 250 OBP in 52 ABs, the cubs in total have a 262 OBP in 127 ABs. Reed has a 220/340/244 line there in 41 ABs. In other words, with or without Sori, the cubs have sucked out of the leadoff spot. They've just lit it up in 3 (Lee), 4 (ARam), 6 (DeRo), and 7 (Soto), compared to the league.
