  1. There's only one Og-tober! ..jeebus these Dane Cook commercials have been on since April.
  2. I've heard talk that TNT would get the start of the game until the Sox are done, and if that happens, I'll be screwed into missing the Cubs. I'll be at a bar which I'm sure won't change away from the game, even if the Sox are up by 12 by then. Where are you located? I'm sure there will be multiple tv's if you're in a bar...ask nicely...if you're in the midwest...you shouldn't have to ask at all. I live in a very touristy spot on the central Cali coastline, about 2 hours south of San Francisco. I showed up for a Cubs game that I knew would be on WGN on a weeknight in August, and it took 15 minutes for me to finally get one of the 12 TVs to change from a Red Sox game that no one seemed to be paying attention to, yet it was still really crowded. I'll be fighting uphill, I'm sure. The only Cubs fans around here are military, and most military don't come out to this bar. Yeah...for your sake, let's hope the Angels-Sox game doesn't go into extras. They're on pace to be done by 9 for what it's worth.
  3. lay off the amphetamines...dems jus jokes. I know what you mean. I'm not a contributor to most game threads...but all I can think about is the game.
  4. He's obviously had someone in his ear, because he's been quoted saying that he has to remain calm and not get too amped. Edit - that doesn't necessarily mean he will be able to control that.

  6. Likely precisely what you're hoping won't be the case, if it comes to that. TNT dyno mite
  7. game thread and beer thread about to merge when i get off work in an hour...
  8. pretty sure Tim has addressed this previously, but one doesn't really purchase "Premium" for the bells and whistles. Sure it's nice not having ads in the middle of the page and being able to ignore certain posters at times. However, there isn't a lot of value added in the premium interface. If you're going to purchase premium, do it so that we always have NSBB. I think most really miss the point here.
  9. I'm interested to see how Yeti responds to this one....
  10. Well, I wokeup at 6 am this morning for work, but cocaine is a hell of a drug, so I should be fine....joking. Honestly, I don't think I'll have any problems staying awake. I don't get to watch a Cubs playoff game very often. Sleep can wait until the weekend.
  11. A page full of posts and Truffle is the only one that didn't pick the Cubs to get past the Diamondbacks? Are we certain everyone shared their "realistic" picks? I know we had an abundance of success against Arizona in the regular season, but....:-#
  12. Kodi runs the spread offense this year when he comes in to play, and Al Borgess believes he will have success with this because of his athleticism...we'll see.
  13. Kodi Burns is extremely fast and has a strong arm, but I believe he may suffer from Michael Vick's disease...below average passing accuracy. He is a true freshman, and he's only played a handful of snaps, so I can't really judge just yet. If he's able to read defenses and throw with any accuracy, he's going to be very good. When one considers their youth this year, one would think Auburn would be better next season also.
  14. agree on both items...it's amazing how quickly South Florida became a strong program.
  15. Fiver, I want to thank you and your team for reviving college football for me. With Florida's loss, Tennessee has a much undeserved second chance to win the East and take a shot at the impossible (beating LSU). I am indebted to Auburn until the next time ya'll beat Tennessee in the SEC Championship game. :D I wonder if Auburn playing a very tough schedule had a part to do with this? They did match up well against Florida. Dew, Do you know when Auburn and Tennessee resume their series? That's always a fun game too. Cuse, I'm sure playing South Florida instead of a patsy earlier in the year did help some of the of underclassmen get better. Truly, Auburn should have won the game against South Florida. Five of their drives were stopped short because of three lost fumbles by Fannin and two interceptions by Cox. If Auburn had prevented even one of those turnovers, the end result of the game "could have/should have" been different. South Florida didn't make mistakes...zero turnovers in that game. Auburn isn't as bad as they looked earlier this year, but I'm pretty sure they aren't as good as they looked against Florida either.
  16. Well, college football is no longer dead to me now that Auburn has come back to life and beaten Florida. However, this team is still very young and unpredictable. AU plays Vanderbilt this weekend, and they should win. They play at the McFaddens and at LSU in the weeks following the Vandy game. Auburn's best running back, Brad Lester, will make his season debut against Vandy, and Auburn is now extremely deep at that position. DE Quentin Groves dislocated two toes against Florida, but they are back in place, and he may be able to return against Arkansas in two weeks. Warp, Ziemba is coming into his own..looked very good at right tackle against Florida.
  17. ..a spectacular evening it would be for sure, but there are worlds other than this one, gunslinger.
  18. ...have been on the road this weekend and unable to post, but...Cubs clinching, Auburn beating Florida..wow. Auburn matched up fairly well with Florida. Auburn's defensive line and linebackers are the strength of their team and thus, Tebow was unable to run the ball as effectively as he normally does until Auburn DE Quentin Groves got hurt in the 4th quarter. Brandon Cox didn't make many huge mistakes, and Auburn's two running backs, freshman RB Mario Fannin and sophomore Ben Tate both ran the ball well at times. Senior running back, Brad Lester, will return next week against Vanderbilt after serving what amounts to 6 game suspension going back to the bowl game last January. Auburn may be able to hang in there with LSU for a while as well in a few weeks ...some of their younger players on the offensive line looked much better this game and their D was solid.
  19. How's that work? Mobile phone broadband connection? yes...3G aircard...
  20. will be driving and watching mlbtv at the same time.....good things will happen.
  21. understand...and agree. For instance, two players at Texas, Sergio Kindle and Henry Melton, were charged with DWI. Is a three game suspension enough punishment for that type of offense? ..probably not. Last season, Auburn linebacker, Trey Blackmon, was arrested for underage drinking. Tuberville suspended him for four games. To me, drinking and driving is a much more severe offense than underage drinking. What prevents the NCAA from setting some type of standard in these scenarios instead of deferring to the respective head coaches?
