    Very few owners would spend more than the Tribune. For that matter, very few owners do spend more. The Cobs' payroll is listed right now as 7th in the major leagues by ESPN.

    It's disappointing to see you write that because it's not a rational decision. I can forgive a whole lot of baserunning and fielding mistakes for a leftfielder that hits .400 with 80 hr.

    Wood at least has good career numbers and dominating k/9 numbers despite his injuries. Potatohands did very little on the Cobs until '04. However, that still doesn't explain the depth of Tim's hate for him.
