  1. No new posts since the AM? Must be a busy Wed. Go Cubs
  2. He's got plenty of time to get back healthy. Spring training 2007 isn't for quite a while. Oh, so he is not scheduled for a SIM game till then? Cool.
  3. =D> to the entire thing, but I think the bolded parts just got me a little misty right now
  4. Only thing is, many reports have him wanting to be AL only and going back to an AL team in the offseason. How much $$ would it take to convinve him to stay NL??
  5. Side note: Australia just got reamed on that call. I should have enough time for a short (hangover) nap before we play.
  6. Last year in Houston, in a game thread, I predicted Murton's first HR, (albeit to the wrong field) so I will take this opportunity to say that Murton will go deep this series.
  7. Fmr. Major league umpire Eric Gregg is in pretty bad shape following a massive stroke. Best of luck to him and prayers to his family. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2470705
  8. I actually didn't walk, I figured it was a waste of time. I watched the Cubs in a bar with some buddies.
  9. Did you all hear the announcers? That is only the second time in his career he has struck out 3 times...and he has never struckout 4 times. Very impressive.
  10. Wow, that has to be odd watching a game as the sun is coming up. First for everything I suppose. I used to watch in Northern Germany, same weird situation
  11. Woohoo! I have the kid's end of the year soccer party at 1; so not watching. The soccer team was more successful anyway...
  12. Whoa Whoa Whoa, easy killer! I wasn't for or against, just posting that we are the second highest charging team. Thats all. I have no idea if Fenway has parking BTW, but do they have a TV/radio revenue like us? I don't know that either. I know we spend and have been spending, albeit in the wrong places, I am not a "Trib needs to spend more" kind of guy at all. Sorry if you took it wrong. Heh! I wasn't quoting you when you quoted me. :D But, you did find the difference in ticket prices, which was something I was looking for. Thanks! Truce & Your welcome

  14. Uhhh, we're not far behind Boston for avg. ticket prices as it is. $12 yes, but we are second in the majors. :( http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5493026
  15. Instead of blowing up parliament, can we blow up home plate? Why not? We're not using it
  16. slow thread day. maybe if i just post and respond to myself...nope the Cubs will still lose.
  17. Lineups: 1. J Pierre, CF 2. R Cedeno, SS 3. T Walker, 1B 4. M Barrett, C 5. J Jones, RF 6. A Ramirez, 3B 7. M Murton, LF 8. N Perez, 2B 9. G Maddux, P 1. H Ramirez, SS 2. D Uggla, 2B 3. M Jacobs, 1B 4. M Cabrera, 3B 5. J Borchard, LF 6. J Hermida, RF 7. R Abercrombie, CF 8. M Olivo, C 9. B Moehler, P
  18. The good news is with a day game, I don't have to have my hopes up all day, I can get on with my day after about 1:30 when it is 6-0. Either that or I will be really drunk by then, not too sure. p.s. God Bless the World Cup!
  19. Wait until he is 45 or so and the Cubs may sign him. We all know that tune; Sign the aging superstar
  20. I'm stuck at 1 until the ASG. Even if they get swept by the Florida Marlins? They of the AAA team? Yes even then. I will have hope (be in denial) until then. It's just how I am. I actually don't see this season as being such a bad thing. A full season for Murton and Cedano, Marshall, some starts for Hill. Get people healthy and make some moves this team will get back on top. No pressure rehab year for Wood, Prior and D. Lee oh yeah and Wade Miller. This is the problem in my opinion. We have needed to make some moves every year since 03 and we have made some--albeit the wrong ones taking us in the wrong direction. I am with you Scott, I am still hopeful, but believing in Hendry and MacPhail to make some moves in the off-season? I can no longer be hopeful about that, they have made thewrong ones too many times.
  21. What kind of Cubs tat did you get and where did you put it? Just curious... It is a little distorted cuz my 6 yr old took the pic and it is swollen from just getting it yesterday, but it is the Cubs C with a baseball in the middle; bricks and ivy on the top and bottom of the stitches, and a 23 in the middle. Interestingly, I proposed to my wife the day that Neifi won the game for the Giants, the day after Moises hit a HR to win it for us in extras. Crazy couple of days. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g111/gerby23/cubtat.jpg Cool. I met my Wife in the bleachers. Couldn't marry anyone that wasn't a Cubs fan and that didn't like baseball. My Wife pretty much knows that I'm a model husband from October thru the start of April, but during baseball season it's all about the Cubs. I told my wife I had loved the Cubs for 20 years and if I could love her as long, we would be okay. She has been really cool about it all and for our first Christmas together she got me a Ryno autographed jersey to go with my bat, ball and card and BUILT me a shadow box to hold it all. Very cool.

  23. Well, I got my Cubs tattoo yesterday by a Cards fan in Cards country during a losing streak and they won. I don't think my wife will let me get a new one everyday, so it is someone else's turn...any takers??? Hopefully, the Cubs decide they like this winning thing and keep it up.
  24. I supposedly can, on Directv. Washington Nationals at Chicago Cubs 8:00 pm 744 unreal. I'm not slated to get it. Hmmm, even the directv.com/mlb site says it's not on. Maybe I'll get lucky and dishnetwork will get it at gametime. I'm probably not missing much. BH, I am in NW AR and I am getting it, but I had no info on it. I reset my DirectTV receiver and it showed up.
