  1. Well, we outhit the Cards, Great! But they outwalked us and got their hits after said walks and they won. Still want us free swinging and clogging bases Dusty, Sarge, & Clines? Anybody know how many times this has happened in the Dusty Regime? Of course absolute stellar baserunning hurt a bit too. :? Cubbie from TX in AR
  2. beautiful pitch Greg, one more, and we can get our bats going again
  3. O'Neill said he's going to be out 4-6 weeks. I heard that, but with what exactly? strained left hammy. Thank God no tear at least. Speedy recovery Angel
  4. O'Neill said he's going to be out 4-6 weeks. Oh wow, I hadn't heard that. That's terrible. Yeah I feel bad for the kid - I heard he was too distraught to talk to the media. In tears at his locker, probably figures he won't get another chance now that we decided to go with 12 arms
  5. O'Neill said he's going to be out 4-6 weeks. I heard that, but with what exactly?
  6. Bit off topic, but exactly what did they find out about Pagan? And thanks in advance.
  7. You almost forget when you get into the game he is alone, watching those Pirates games just about killed me-dead air, dumb comments, non-baseball talk-this is a nice present after that.
  8. Also REALLy enjoy watching Maddux when he is pitching like this. So far, so good in '06 Mad Dog.
  9. I really enjoy watching Dodger home games. The announcing is first rate and amazing if you think he does it all alone. Impressive
  10. Maybe, and most likely he will. However, you have a guy like Murton (or Murton more specifically) who is definitely showing he should play 9 inn (good for you Dusty) every game. Pierre, at the very least will come around to last year's sub-par #'s; but if Mr. Murton continues to get quality AB's he will help the OF production immensely. Only my opinion, Cubbie from TX in AR

  12. I don't. I'm taking my daughter to the circus. But, I may TiVo it. Curious George for me...
  13. I am from San Antonio, and while it does have a population of about 1.5 million, it is not a very rich city. They would have the same attendance problems there as they do in Miami. Also, they have been trying to get an NFL team into the monstrosity that is the Alamodome for years, now it is unused and the sad part of that is: it is 4 feet too short to house a baseball team by MLB regs. The Marlins would require a new stadium, and that being the case, as badly as they want it, I doubt this happens. Just not a good fit city wise, IMO. Cubbie from TX in AR
  14. I had Arthro 2 and 1/2 weeks ago to remove the back of my kneecap, some old scar tissue and some cartilage. I went to the gym today and ran, not jogged, but ran. I was feeling pretty good about all that until I got home and read this. The difference is, I don't have an entire team/medical staff around me telling me to take it easy because I am an investment not a person. It seems with the Cubs, we get "2-4 weeks" which inevitably turns into 2-4 months. Very frustrating indeed. Cubbie from TX in AR
  15. Maybe we are the only ones up, but i am pumped up by that news from a reliable source. Bring him on, Jim! Cubbie from TX in AR
  16. Never have been bale to stand her, but she just tore into Dusty on ESPNNews. It was great, and the guys, were all scrambling to try and defend Dusty. High comedy, maybe she is not all bad. Cubbie from AR in TX
  17. Should we start a bandWGN for that? yep, put me on board for that bandWGN as well. I'm there with you guys
  18. You'd think with all the RYNO crap I have around my house he wouldn't try and give me heart attacks
  19. Ryno-Great 2nd basemen, not a great analyst hopefully- From yahoo: http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AvrIuX832dTTMO4TiU9rp605nYcB?slug=rs-hitters120505&prov=yhoo&type=lgns He thinks we may end up with AGON and possibly Wilson. Please kill me now if this is true. Cubbie from TX in AR **Mods please move if posted in any of the other threads**
  20. That is the whole point; you can what if all you want, but I would rather give up prospective talent to receive proven talent. If it bites you in the butt later, oh well, at least you took a chance. I hate hearing that Hendry won't even listen to GM's that mention Pie or Hill. WHY?!? What would it hurt to listen. I have a theory that Hendry doesn't like to deal with GMs that he thinks are smarter than him; he likes to think he took advantage of someone-jmo. Cubbie in AR from TX isnt it a GM's job to what if? it is when they dont that they arent doing their job imo. it is also my opinion that being a gm is not as easy as alot of people on this board think it is. its a complicated business not a grocery store where you can pick and choose which players you want and build the perfect team. why dont the people who blast hendry for every little thing he does quit their day jobs & make a living at roto leauge baseball if they are so superior to professional major leauge gm's? You are correct. It is a Gms job to do so. I am not a poster who jumps every players bandwagon or jumps off. I am just a Cubs fan who thinks it is ridiculous to not hear out other Gms when it comes to Hill (very limited ML exp.) or Pie (none) That is my point. Also, I don't think Simmons is a great analyst for any sport; I think he is a funny journalist. Cubbie from TX in AR

  22. And by we, I mean the Cubs organization, not us. WE DO think this way, at least most of us I think. This is from BIll "Red Sox" Simmons' newest Page 2 article discussing the Sox-Marlins proposed trade: Full article, he discusses more about prospects and potential and its pretty funny: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=simmons/051122 How many times have we had THE prospect, can't miss, and we don't pull the trigger on a deal and the prospect misses? I'm with Bill, get a known commodity for potential nine times outta ten, please. Cubbie from TX in AR
