  1. Exactly. Macias isn't bad at all as a 25th man. It's Dusty's complete lack of intelligence when it comes to using Macias that's the problem. Macias isn't a bad 12th man. Considering the Cubs use twelve pitchers (ugh) I would put Hollandsworth (less-as some of you say) at least lower than Macias due to versatility. Not great defensively, but ok all-around. Anyway, I sit here all the time and rag Macias, but as we all know, the problem isn't Macias, he is a good (dare I say great) bench player. The problem with Macias is, as we all know, Baker's mis-use of him. I, for one, will not fault him for Dusty's ignorance. I like Macias. I like him on our team. I like him after just about everyone else, mind you, but I like him. Sorry, but not really... Cubbie from TX in AR
  2. Fixed! Duh, Mazzone!
  3. Pat and Ron were talking about how he looks 'bigger' this year. I know you guys are just kidding around, but anyone (a righty-swinger) who plays their home games in the JuiceBox, feels like they need to be on steroids to be a better player DESERVES to be caught and banned from baseball for LIFE, just because they are so stupid!! I went to HS and college in TX, and there was actually an article about (then) Enron Field when it opened being smaller down the lines than all but 3 HS in San Antonio-and there are a ton of HS there.
  4. And Macias with the best AB of the night...ughhh
  5. Okay guys, I can be in Houston by tomorrow. Now, I used to throw about 92, I am guessing, but I can prolly still bring it up to 82-84. But here is the thing: I can throw strikes. I promise. So who wants to pitch in and get me to Houston??? This is horrible. My poor, poor best friend is there (and a Cubs fan) with two 'Stros friends. I sure hope he is enjoying the $5.50 16 oz beverages.
  6. YES! Called it! Not the fly out, the HR of course not to LF though So he gets one more? :D Uno Mas Matt "Naranja" Murton por favor
  7. YES! Called it! Not the fly out, the HR of course
  8. I mentioned in a Game Thread this weekend that I am just now starting to hate the Redbirds since moving to AR, because I never knew any Cards fans growing up. But I am from TX and all my friends are Astros fans and I really hate the 'Stros. I mean really hate them.
  9. I also dislike him. His helmet is so freaking big.. Now, that is funny.
  10. For the record: I hate Craig Biggio. But boy, did I wish he was on the Cubs in the 90s.
  11. sounds good to me  And Aramis can hit at least #30, and Derrek can regain the NL lead,...what else?? :) Glendon is a good hitter  I like it!! Now the bad news, I have to watch on Fox Sports SW and listen to Dierker call the game. Horrible.
  12. sounds good to me  And Aramis can hit at least #30, and Derrek can regain the NL lead,...what else?? :)
  13. How about Murton gets his first big league HR into those dinky Crawford Boxes?
  14. How many think Dusty will take credit for the outburst and the win? With his guys up front (and doing well)? Ah well, don't over-analyze it, just enjoy it, I guess.
  15. How about that one too? See that first pitch was inside, and it forced him to swing at the second and he...went deep again.
  16. Some people shouldn't post in game threads. Especially with post #1...
  17. At first I was upset at having to watch this game period, then I was upset at having to watch it on Cards-vision, but now that we are getting the breaks, I like hearing the Cards announcers sound down and sad. :D Now I hope we can hold this lead, so I don't have to hear them get happy.
  18. HAHA! The Cards intro on FSN has a Cubs blunder lowlight reel and Petty singing "Free Fallin'" Just sad. Normally, I would be mad at that, but I can only laugh now.
  19. The Cards guys had Bruce Levine on FSN think and he said its the players fault we stink and Dusty has done a fine job considering the injuries and such. *cough*BS*cough*
  20. You know what is (not) funny? Everytime we make fun of Neifi and Macias, they are nails, and Dusty gets to play them more. Ugh. I am predicting Murton's first HR today btw, in a 11-3 loss.
