    Theres no way that a crappy rumors site would have enough knowledge of negotiations to know that a guy like jim henderson might be included in a trade.

    I wonder what our team would have been like had they signed Carlos Lee instead of Soriano. I know it would have made for a fearsome 3-4-5, but say you put Lee in our lineup, and insert Theriot at leadoff all year how much difference would it have made? Theriot spent much of the year batting second so really moving from second to first is no overall difference. The difference would be that a guy like DeRosa would probably have hit second a lot more, and that would be better for the team.

    There is very little doubt in my mind that this is the Brewer's division for the next several years.

    First name that comes to mind is Paul DePodesta. Maybe he can get his old team to give up some of those young players like Kemp, Billingsley, Loney, etc that are such trouble makers. DePodesta was a GM for a total of 2 years. That hardly qualifies as "consistently above average." That is my problem with people that constantly complain about Hendry and how easy it would be to replace him with a better GM. Sure, potentially there are better GMs, but the names that keep getting thrown around are terrible. DePodesta? Hendry has had more success than Depodesta. As you pointed out, Depodesta got 2 years. Hard to really get a lot of success, dontcha think? How do you know he's terrible when he has barely gotten a shot? Way to avoid defending DePodesta. If you can't win with facts try to win by playing semantics? What about DePodesta makes him a "consistently above average GM? I think GR was answering the other question: "Who would you want to see replace Hendry?" So he was never saying that DePodesta is consistenly above average. My thoughts on Logan White: It might not be good logic, but after Hendry I am leary of scouting guys. Hendry did a great job of building up our system but he has no clue when it comes to managing payroll and maximizing the dollar.

    I like it for the Pirates. With so many fresh younger faces like Antonetti and Kim etc. around I don't understand how a majority of GM hires seem to be retreads like Wade.

    BELT THIEF!!!!!! I am absolutely embarrassed by the fact that I once traded Brandon Webb for Craig Monroe and Orlando Hernandez in a sim league. It was after the 2004 season though, so it wasn't too bad at the time, especially when salaries were taken into account.

    No clue. Hunter Pence? Anyway, I fail to see the lesson. Player ? has a MUCH better IsoD. Until Colvin learns to take walks, I won't really be able to take him seriously. Francoeur is my guess. edit-what a hard name to spell.

    There is really only one way to know how he will perform. It's a shame we are in the middle of a pennant race and have the catching wizard, Jason Kendall, behind the plate.

    I voted for the guy that sang "..buy me some peanuts and crackerjack, I don't care if I never get back" I don't know why but when people say crackerjacks and ever I hate it. It's one of my biggest pet peeves.
