  1. Does anyone else hate this song? Like slit your throat hate?
  2. Excellent game. Is it safe to say that the real Ted Lilly is back?
  3. Considering what we got in return for Cruz, we should have kept both. Even if he never pitched for us, his production would have been higher than what was provided by Walky McNo-control.
  4. I know they now have Goldstein to give them some credibility when it comes to prospects, but i still don't trust them that much when it comes to ranking and analyzing minor league guys.
  5. Juan Cruz appears to have some wicked bad male pattern baldness going on.
  6. I'm pretty sure he had mono or something similar, that at least partially explains his slightly subpar numbers. Also he played in socal where the level of competition is much higher than, let's say, some po-dunk indiana conference.
  7. The MVP award isn't worthy of Soto.
  8. Mark Grace was my favorite Cub growing up. I love him
  9. Incorrect...every member of the Cubs front office works at Wrigley Field (outside of scouts of course). Not sure where you were getting that the luxury seating would be at the expense of the team offices which desperately need a major overhaul. There is a reason that the Cubs front office is the smallest by far in baseball and that is because they lack the space to expand the staff as part of the reason. The team offices face the outside of the park (hence all the windows above the main entrance to the park) with portions under the main ramps in the back of the seating areas of the grandstand so those would have to be some awfully darn big luxury seats. He got it from this article, that was linked to above. http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-080508-wrigley-field-more-taxes-chicago-cubs,1,7811302.story And if it's true that the office space is constricting the front office, that is ridiculous.
  10. In my sim league, I traded Chris Young For Rich Hill and Nate McLouth. I think we should do the opposite and trade Rich Hill for Chris Young. Then we can trade Felix Pie for Khalil Greene. Then we are absolutely set offensively. Fukudome DeRosa Lee Ramirez Young Soriano Soto Greene awesome.
  11. the first step's admitting it
  12. No defense in walks. Missals ain't good either but if you can't even throw a strike, you have problems. We're not really arguing whether giving up a HR is better than walking someone, are we? No. I'm talking about throwing strikes vs balls. Are you? Because that involves the batter's choices as well and isn't purely on the pitcher. There is a way to get a good result out of a pitch outside the strike zone. OK...how is Z doing this year since he improved his ball to strike ratio? #2..if you are around the plate you also have more of a chance. When a pitcher is way out of the strike zone you have none. Z's strike percentage is currently less than it was last year. it's actually about 2% higher Yes, you are right and I am an idiot for looking at the wrong rows.

  14. Is there a way we can get Zambrano to start every game?
  15. i think it was official once the cubs half of the fifth ended.
  16. Thanks, Sean, for giving me a reason to continue watching this game!
  17. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pat_Venditte This guy? He was drafted but not signed last year, because he returned to Creighton for his senior year. http://www.gocreighton.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=89374&SPID=78&DB_OEM_ID=1000&ATCLID=1145518&Q_SEASON=2007 Thanks CHL. No problem. If a switch pitcher made it to the majors, what would the rules for usage be, anyone know?
