  1. yeah, that's what i always think about. personally, i think ted williams would still be awesome if you just teleported him. i don't think ruth would be nearly as good.
  2. barry bonds is a better hitter than ty cobb was
  3. yeah, it drafted bosh for me because i had lewis as my 4th ranked player after my keepers, and then bosh 5th.
  4. hey, sorry, i had a big physics test yesterday and have been busy most of the day today. my keepers: Kobe Bryant Josh Smith Baron Davis i couldn't decide between jermaine o'neal and davis... jermaine's knees scare me moreso than baron's , though
  5. say what you want about WARP, but crisp posted a 6.0 WARP (8.3 WARP3) with that batting line this year. his FRAR/FRAA was 55/32, which is ungodly. a .275-.280 EqA with that type of defense would make him a pretty valuable player.
  6. Is davenport even playing? I know it has him listed as available, but he just got arrested or something recently, will those troubles keep him out of any games? Yeah, he's playing, but I went with Jacobs and Norwood. Watch Davenport score 2 TD's tonight now. i have norwood on my team as well... he really should be getting more carries.
  7. too many missed opportunities for UK in that one. USC and UT basically handed first place in the SEC East to them, but they couldn't capitalize. it still isn't totally out of reach, but they'll need help once again.
  8. i'll do it again
  9. that was amazing. i had memories of 2002 in my head when LSU had the ball at the end of regulation. the 1998 basketball team must be using voodoo or something. this football team just keeps coming from behind.
  10. that was huge.
  11. UK absolutely dominated in the third quarter. i've never seen the defense play that well. they should have scored at least three times in the third.
  12. well, that sucked.
  13. I think they benched him b/c of that fumble. I was excited during the Air Raid, it was a fun team. I think this is better on paper though. I wish I was back at Commonwealth for this. i was much younger during the Tim Couch days. the only real memory i have is the loss to penn state in the outback bowl. i didn't follow UK's football program that closely back then, especially compared to basketball Tim Couch grew up about 30 minutes from me, though.
  14. i thought UK was done after Dixon fumbled. the safety sure didn't help. did dixon get hurt or something? i don't recall hearing the announcers say anything regarding him. i've never been this excited for UK football. i'm usually waiting for basketball season to begin.
  15. thanks for making the UK win look good, Louisville
  16. yes, he is so selfish. man, i can't believe he wants to achieve more milestones as a player. who on earth would want to play baseball at age 44 for 10 million a year? i know i wouldn't.
  17. His career doesn't matter; that's not what he was bucking. It should've been obvious that he's not a .313 hitter. I'm not surprised that he hasn't been able to sustain Babe Ruth's IsoP either. A 140 pt drop in OPS sounds about right. i'm not really sure how you can say Howard's 2006 was not flukish. his BAC (batting average on contact) for 2006 was the second-highest in BP's database, which goes back to 1960. his BAC for 2006 was .455. league average is .320-.330, and the leaders are in the .410-.420 range. his WARP3 is similar to his 2006 campaign because he has gotten better defensively according to BP's metrics. his FRAR/FRAA this year is 25/16 compared to -2/-14 last year. here's the article on BAC if you're a subscriber: http://www.baseballprospectus.com/article.php?articleid=6239
  18. How is Andre Woodson going to prove he's the best quarterback in the nation against arguably one of the worst defenses in college football? ...by doing better than the top QB prospect does against a similarly-bad defense? seriously though, that comment was more made in jest than anything. people on ESPN were saying that this game could decide who's better between Brohm and Woodson. how Woodson performs against the toughest conference is the better gauge. outside of Rutgers and WVU, Brohm has it made.
  19. andre' woodson is the best quarterback in the nation. today will prove that.
  20. use a higher resolution, nub
  21. so you're saying that you wouldn't want bonds' 388 PAs so far this season on the cubs because he wouldn't be able to play every day?
  22. you want the best players possible, not players that fill "small ball" roles. juan pierre is a "small ball" player. does that mean the cubs should have traded for him 2005?
  23. i'm sure i'm going to sound like some type of bonds apologist or giants fan, but i never get this holier-than-thou attitude people have when it comes to athletes and money. "oh, he's just out for himself. he doesn't care about his team." yeah, and so are many other athletes. i find it hard to believe that if we were in his situation we wouldn't try and max out our contract offers. it'd be like if A-Rod said, "well, i don't want people to think i'm greedy, so i better just take a 100 million dollar contract." by the way, bonds is worth 8-10 million as a DH in my opinion.
  24. how is a relevant pun-nickname not funny, but peoples' reactions to a sporting event are? Humor is so hard to define. It's... funny like that. alright, is laughable better? pathetic? inane?
  25. barroid(s) is one of the worst nicknames i've seen in a while. i find it funny that so many of you take what he did personably. it's like he ran over half of NSBB's dogs or something.
