  1. I was half-kidding. We prob should be looking to replace Jennings either way.
  2. Hmmmm That would be fascinating. Jed York is a wily one.
  3. Must have been a significant raise. Or he's not liking the personnel he has to work with and doesn't see it improving.
  4. Looks like we are going to need to a starting corner and a nickel.
  5. I think the value of the pick is still VERY high if he falls to 7. You are talking about a potential franchise QB in a draft that is bereft of that potential, and 2016 isn't looking good either. That by itself increases Winston's value significantly. But yes, Lovie probably grabs him.
  6. If he falls and the Texans want to trade up to 7, I'd do it in a heartbeat. You could get an RGIII-like haul for that pick.
  7. Shanahan's skin tone makes up for his vintage.
  8. I want the Bears too hire him just so the meatball fans can get confused when Lolla hits town this Summer.
  9. Watch Winston fall into the later half of the 1st Round and wind up in Houston at 16. If they pass on him...see you on Day 2.
  10. EDIT to my earlier opinion: Shanahan may have been a great coach at one time; he isn't a great coach any longer.
  11. Varlamov inexplicably turns into Hasek and Espisito whenever he sees our jerseys.
  12. I have zero problem with your arg re Shanny, BTW. He's not a great coach.
  13. Your argument makes no sense and is circuitous, raw, and you probably know I generally agree with you on most stuff. The Bears haven't made all the coaching and personnel changes they have because of Jay. They made them because the team's offensive performance was well below par in spite of Jay (a QB with above average skills). It was an utter failure of coaching and personnel management (see the underlines below). Martz nearly got Jay killed behind a horrendous offensive line and with absolutely no one to throw to. Tice was an unimaginative play-caller who had few offensive weapons at his disposal beyond Jay and Forte and was also hampered by the O-Line's suck for at least one of his years as the OC. If you had put Peyton Manning in those situations it might have resulted in one more win each season. If it had been Steve Fuller we probably would have had Top 3 picks each season.
  14. With all the character questions, I just can't see anyone drafting Winston in the Top 10. Maybe not even the Top 15. He will be the guy we watch sweating in the green room this year.
  15. I'm thinking that is more due diligence than genuine interest.
  16. Hard to disagree with a any of what goony wrote.
  17. Draft Randy Gregory, cut Jared Allen, and move to the 3-4.
  18. Maybe, but he did work all year with the Ravens. I guess being the OC is less stressful, but its no picnic.
  19. If it is Toub, Childress and Spagnuolo are my two bets, based solely on previously coaching together and the idea that a first time head coach can be helped by guys with previous head coaching experience. A Spagnuolo coached D would certainly be fun to watch, if his Giants teams are any indication. Randy Gregory would look good working for him.
  20. Don't agree re Niko's D. His off-the-ball instincts need work. When the D breaks down due to a quick guy penetrating or a pick-and-roll, he looks lost to me. That said, I agree its not a big deal inasmuch as he's young and will get better. He certainly has what he needs physically.
  21. That gig makes way more sense for him than the 49'ers, though Demitrioff isn't looking secure if they don't improve. I still think he belongs in Oakland, just because he seems like the kind of guy who coaches there. Then again, Atlanta once employed Jerry Glanville...
  22. Assuming they go with Toub, I'd be interested in Childress as OC. How about Fangio (assuming no HC job comes his way) or Steve Spagnuolo as DC?
  23. Yeah, it just seems like the thing to do these days.
  24. Yep. I said something very similar last night. And like I said a few days ago, it's great to see them just hang in there all game, and put it away at the end. This team closes out games really well. Butler rightly got the attention last night, but hot damn Mirotic was a stud last night. http://giant.gfycat.com/GreatBrownKatydid.gif He's really, really skilled offensively. But he's going to struggle on D all season. He doesn't get it yet.
  25. I've seen them twice in-person this season. Yes, you can see that Noah is struggling some on TV, but you can see the extent of some of it (lateral movement; lift in his jump) better in-person. His straight ahead speed seems fine. Rose looked filthy fast and strong the two times I saw him. His D was just ok. Butler is a freaking beast. I didn't realize how muscular he has become until I saw him in-person. His strength really shows on D. His leap is also amazingly quick and effortless, making him a great rebounder for his position.
