  1. IMO, he is a racist. He was totally out of line with his comments about the sun and what color skin you have. If he was white he would be fired right now. Undeniably true. Imagine if Torre said Jeter was a little better during day games than Giambi is b/c Jeter is half African-American. Pink slip.
  2. nope. there is absolutely no way around it. mlb rules strictly prohibit you from taking a pitcher out until he reaches 110 pitches. and twice a month a pitcher, by rule, has to throw 120+. how does anyone in this organization still have a job? That sounds a lot like a bail out comment by Rothschild. Almost like he disagrees with how Dusty uses the staff but does't want to overtly criticize, so instead he claims there is nothing that he can do about it. Remember that Larry is not Dusty's guy...
  3. Let's hope it was a c-section then. Frank didn't juice, IMO. All Natural Beast.

I just figured he ate so much that he bursted at the seams. C'mon now, Serena! That was the easy one! You are better than that! :)
  5. Ozzie's actions can be best summed up as "bush league".
  6. It would not shock me if several guys dislike hi mnow based on his insistence on trotting out guys like Neifi and Bynum when guys like Nevin, Walker and Murton are available.
  7. But the important thing to remember is Dusty doesn't have any sort of unjustified infatuation with veterans and he treats young players fairly. That's the part I don't get - Bynum isn't that much more a vet than Murton, is he? It must be the speed thing. Whatever, its not like any of this matters any longer. What a waste.
  8. If we weren't already the laughing stock of the game, we will be if Z is hurt.
  9. Seconded, but for the right price I'd be happy to have Crawford as well.
  10. Did you say CA Penal League? http://www.spitemag.com/bile/lineup/art/vaughn.jpg
  11. Can someone photoshop a pic of Dusty as the Pied Piper to Infamy? Or a Tour Guide to Franchise's Worst Year Ever?

I took the title literally and thought someone from this bd. acousted Glendon.
  13. Neifi reminds me of a team I played on where the coach's kid got all sorts of PT even though he stunk. Neifi is the coach's kid.
  14. I believe this is the game you are referring to: http://baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=198907300CHN He hit the HR off of Myers after Aguilera put a man on ahead of him. I know this because I was there, sitting a few rows behind the Cubs' dugout. After Grace hit the dong into the RF poweralley (I can still see it in my head) he went into the dugout. When the crowd continued to dance and scream, he came back out and did a Hulk Hogan-like "muscle flex" for us, right in front of me. That game propelled them onto the NL East title. I was 13. One of the greatest memories of my childhood. Here is the greatest Cubs game I ever saw in person: http://baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=199809120CHN They were down by 8 runs, came all the way back, and then recent pick up Orlando Merced jacked one into the RF bleachers for the walk off. No one left the park for 10 minutes as the music continued to blare from the speakers. I get chills just thinking about it. Best part about both of hose games is that I was there with my Dad.
  15. Neifi was in the 2 hole last night and we couldn't score runs. Must be a coincidence.
  16. I love Mark. I love his grit and intensity on the mound, and the fact that he wears his hose old-school. That said, I am tremendously frustrated by the fact that he hasn't pitched and we have less than 100 games left.
  17. Yeah, agents know this is a business. They may not pubicly ever admit it when a client sucks but I doubt they would hold a grudge against an organization that released a crappy player. Agreed. They can't afford to torpedo their relationships with an entire franchise over one junk player.
  18. I'm with Rocket. He had better be an absolute PIMP for a guaranteed 8 mill.
  19. My first game at Wrigley. There have been somewhere between 150-200 since: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/box-scores/boxscore.php?boxid=198007160CHN
  20. Will he be on the Hot List? I dunno. he said absolutely nothing of signifigance on the DPS, though.
  21. That's b/c he wasn't on the Hott List at that time, he was on the afore mentioned Dan Patrick Show.
  22. He'll be on The Dan Patrick Show soon as well. EDIT; In about thirty minutes.
  23. :music1:
  24. Really good point. Jocketty does this very well - he brings in scrubs, gets a year or two out of them that totally belies their career avgs., then casts them off and replaces them b/c they become overpriced and overvalued.
  25. Hard to argue with any of it, Bruce. Well stated and very well organized.
