  1. how on earth does a manager have another stick on the bench after 31 innings of baseball? Now pinch hitting, number 87 - Jose Macias. [note]Dusty was not the manager[/note] That made me lol at work, my boss thinks i've been drinkin' hehe.
  2. Yeah we don't. I want the Starter version back please.. I don't. He's not fit to be a starter, with the voilent motion he has. Either that or use him heavily, f him, and execute the win-win-win-lose plan. Win: We get quality starts from him. Win: We help settle down the fans and take back the city. Win: We prevent Wood from fixing his mechanics and hurting us w/ another team. Lose: Wood is out of a job. How is he "not fit to be a starter?" B/c he blows his arm out a month after returning and is back on the DL. So, he starts= he blows his arm out....if hes a reliever he doesn't?

  5. Lets just hope the Offense keeps pluggin the ball. (Our Offense  )
  6. Typically, though, it corresponds with a lucrative contract signed with the Cubs. By the way, Vance, I met a woman from Monroe, LA today. This is how our conversation went. HER: I'm in town from Monroe, LA. ME: Really? I know someone from Monroe. HER: Oh? Who? ME: (crap. What am i talking about? I don't "know" him. I mean, I kinda do, I guess. But not really.) His name is Vance. HER: Vance? Vance what? ME: (meekly) Vance Thecubsfan. Lmfao
  7. How many walks does DLee have this year already? Seems like he is walking 2-3 times a game.
  8. Lopez is not a weak hitter. Doesn't matter what kind of hitter he is...he hit a 3 run homer. Right, but give some credit to Lopez. This discussion should be all about whether Z is sucking or not...what about some credit to a very good hitter...Lopez. Maybe he just beat Z in that at bat...nothing more, nothing less. Oh, I agree 100%, was just stating a fact that whether people think he stinks or not, he hit a 3 run homer.

  10. Wait... what? What happened to Ramirez?? He strained his 'rear end' swinging at a pitch late in the game. Seriously?? I hadn't heard that.
  11. He strained his neck watching all the bombs.
  12. Didn't realise he was pitching....
  13. I don't have the exact quote or wording but I believe DLee said something to the effect of " The money doesn't mean that much to me, I want to play for the Cubs."
  14. Might be on to something there Tarp
  15. Pretty bad when defending someone you can't even defend him and go WAY off topic. Game would've been tied if not for Barrett's 2 bonehead plays. This was only the 2nd game folks, get used to seeing this all year. it's not off topic at all. you said 'chalk this one up to barrett' as if he was the lone reason the cubs lost. that obviously wasn't the case, as evidenced by the walks and home runs. look, we're all fighting with you because you took the picture of that blonde chick out as your avatar and replaced it with some sort of corny sunburst thing. Switch it back and we'll all agree with you. Haha
  16. Does this really need to start 5 innings into the season? Well do you really sense a change? Um the fact we scored 5 in the first and didn't squander that opportunity was a change. No team is gonna score EVERY time they have runners in scoring position. None. Not even the WS champs. And most teams if you give your ace a 5 run lead that a gimme win for him. I'm not only talking about the offense but our starters habit of getting and then giving away big leads. As for the offense I'm talking about scoring early and not putting teams away. It is only the first game of the Season.......
  17. Wait, where are you getting the idea this is the case? Waaaaay off topic, but Goony...who is that lady in your sig??
  18. Then your handle at NSBB is fitting. :) It also reminds me of a joke my contracts professor told us: New attorney is in his first case. The opposing attorney is cross-examining his star witness, and she is really taking the witness to task. The new attorney decides she's gone too far, and he stands up and says, "Objection! Counsel is beavering the witness." After a pregnant pause, the judge motions counsel to come to the bench. "I think what you meant to say was BADGERING, son," says the judge. "Oh, THAT'S the word," says the attorney. "I knew it was some small furry animal." :D Lol
  19. Your printer is broken but the Cubs won't let you know for 3 weeks. LMFAO  Try the "Towel Trick"...
  20. That's either Kerry Sayers or Gail Fischer... Gayle Sayers was the Bears HOF running back... LOL, didn't even see I did that. You know what I didn't mean
