  1. We'll gradually see this horsefeathers clear up, of course, it'll be very gradual.
  2. All true. Offense isn't going to be terrible forever, it'll improve, including in this game.
  3. Watching Dodgers national broadcasts is sometimes tedious, I know all announcing crews are homers. Dodgers crew takes to a new level, all they do is blab about the Dodgers greatness. Being crappy players such as Ben Rortvedt, Kiké Hernández and Conforto or not, doesn't matter, they're all the best.
  4. Overreactions to last week, people are thinking the Cowboys are just going to show up and be able to drop 600 yds and 50+ points on the Bears. Without considering all the details making last week a perfect storm for the Lions.
  5. He's got to know a pattern of success for pitchers has been established by now, doesn't he? I'd go up there looking/expecting off speed away and try to damage to the opposite field. Burn the pitchers enough to the opposite field and they'll try another sequence/location.
  6. I know that, I meant in-game, Edwards and especially Johnson going down like they did had a big impact. They were doing alright until Johnson went down afterwards, the secondary was like a bunch of lost puppies.
  7. Think you're correct about Greene throwing a no hitter. To be fair, I don't think there's a team in baseball that would have done anything with Greene last night. He had fantastic stuff and location not to mention an umpire giving him every close call, which to be honest, worked in Rea' favor as well. For Greene, that might have been the best game of his young career. I remember Kerry Wood making a 102 win Astros team look like pathetically helpless one day in May, it happens. Took a quick look at Wood's game again, I honestly don't know how the Astros managed to put the ball in play for the other 7 outs. Best thing about last night, for the Cubs, that game had as much meaning as a spring training game maybe, less.
  8. People are deluding themselves if they believe Lamb, etc. are going to put up monumental numbers. Sure, they'll probably have good to big days but, 50+ points, blah, blah for the Cowboys? Not going to happen. Unless, of course, the Bears lose multiple defenders again, don't think that'll occur. Well, it is the Bears and the only kind of luck they have is bad so, perhaps, I shouldn't be certain they won't lose multiple defenders.
  9. Let those chuds cheer for the loser Reds all they want, probably chaps their asses the Cubs are in the playoffs and say, the Twins and White Sox aren't.
  10. Was looking at the statistics, outside of De La Cruz and maybe, Hayes, the Reds lineup is kind of, well, is ******. Their team offensive WAR is 6.9, Reds have the lowest OPS+ of any playoff contender, didn't realize it was that poor. It's their starting staff that's given them what little chance they have at the post season. The Cubs are at the league average in ERA+, still the lowest of any NL playoff team but, at least average.
  11. That would be though, good thing there almost no chance of that happening.
  12. Root, root all they want for a lost cause the Reds playoff chances.
  13. Yeah, but, there's no one on the Padres staff with what Greene had tonight. And they weren't completely over matched by Skenes yesterday.
  14. Greene was fantastic, a truly meaningless game for the Cubs. What's great is the Reds need to win every game and they won't, even if Cubs get only 1 of the next 3 it's a kick in the balls for the Reds.
  15. Given the way it started with him, it be something if ended up being a decent contributor after all.
  16. Greene pitching quite the game, too bad for the Reds that it's probably not going to mean squat. So sad, well, not really.
  17. Why is Yankees - Orioles on Fox? Honestly, who gives a horsefeathers about the Yankees except for the media?
  18. Bullpen is a problem for them, saw a stat they're 9-20 in games started by Flaherty. Think Jobe going down was a very big blow.
  19. Wow, that's quite a list, many of them give baseball media hard-ons.
  20. I've no doubt Loveland and Burden will get some snaps.
  21. True enough, I was just surprised Swanson was outpacing De La Cruz in WAR 4.7 to 3.1 and other statistics.
  22. When it's the Reds all one hears about Elly De La Cruz this and that, just took a look at the statistics. And Dansby is quietly putting to together a better season then Elly. Given all the hype Elly gets I would have never thought this was possible but, there it is.
  23. Maybe the Cubs will put a wrench in their plans next week.
  24. Guardians finish off sweep of the Tigers, they were carrying baseball' best record for most, if not all of the first half. Looked terrific in doing so, then shortly after the break went in a downward slide and never really recovered.
  25. Now that you mention it, I distinctly remember watching that catch and thinking WTF?
