  1. Fairly certain if the Tigers don't win the AL Central they're out.
  2. You mean during the off season? At the trade deadline I don't think it was feasible, we saw no teams we're able to upgrade their rotations. The price tags were probably outrageous and completely unrealistic. I'm certain teams were trying to fleece the Cubs farm system for a rental.
  3. What's the over under on the number of HR's Boyd, etc. will give up against the wind? While Cubs hitters roll-over, pop up or hit a screamer at someone on every meatball. I understand Cubs pitchers are going to give up some HR's every now and then. The most frustrating aspect is Cubs' hitter rarely take advantage of the mistakes they get. Or, at least, not as often as their opposition does, and, it's been this way for nearly 3 months.
  4. Wonder if it's worth the time to watch this game. Cubs are going to lose coupled with an ESPN crew that'll have a hard-on for the Mets. Maybe it's best to avoid the frustration and be pleasantly surprised, if by some miracle the Cubs win, checking the score tomorrow.
  5. I think it unreasonable to expect anything from Tucker. Have to start with the assumption that Tucker will not be available.
  6. I'd sit PCA for the remainder of season, go with Alcantara in CF.
  7. Before the season I thought they'd win 7-10 games, with the injuries on defense, believe we're looking at 6-9. If Caleb and the offense are cooking, the November/December games against probable playoff bubble teams, the Steelers, Vikings and 49ers, will be fun. I think we'd all take a drastically improved offense, with Caleb arriving and a few playoff bubble bursting upsets as the result for 2025. Defense is easier to fix in an off season.
  8. Could be worse, we could be Tigers' fans, now that's a horsefeathers epic meltdown. If the Tigers don't get their horsefeathers together, it'll read see 2025 Tigers under the definition of meltdown in the dictionary.
  9. I thought Caleb would be cooking by November, Ben Johnson said he expects the offense to be humming by December. I think they're headed in the right direction, Caleb' looking to play on time, on schedule. Caleb on schedule is lethal and will prove to be far and away the best QB of 2024' class.
  10. I’d rather they lose 2 in San Diego and call it year.
  11. I just want see the Cubs deal one heart breaking loss to the Mets. Just horsefeathers one,
  12. What are the odds they don’t even manage a base runner the rest of the game?
  13. That horsefeathers Anderson is trying to talk a Horton injury into existence.
  14. I honestly believe this team is not going win another regular season game.
  15. These TBS announcers are rooting hard for the Mets. And the one needs to shut the horsefeathers up about Horton being injured.
  16. There's no doubt about this coaching staff being something we've not seen in a long time as Bears' fans. In that it's competent. OL will continue to improve, as will Caleb, come November/December, offensively, the Bears are going to be good, really good, with a good QB. With this happening an average to slightly below average performance from the defense may be enough pull off some upsets.
  17. I don't know about that, Illini OL can't PP whatsoever, USC has better talent than Indiana on defense. Defensively, they lost their best DB for the season plus the DL doesn't put any pressure on the QB. It'd be something if they didn't lose by 20+.
  18. Surprised to see USC is only -7 at Illinois thought certain opening odds would have the Trojans as a double digit favorite. That may grow during the week, Illini lost 6 DB's with injuries or suspension during the game vs. Indiana. I'm thinking USC at -7 is a slam dunk, easy cover for 'SC.
  19. MLB or TBS was confused as well, did anyone noticed MLB had the Mets at Cubs on TBS last night? Saw it several times during Cubs-Reds. Thought, that's cool, Cubs get to play day-night, double city, double header! Would have to be split squad.
  20. Good, the Cubs fans have experienced a horsefeathers-ton of pain at the hands of the Mets. About time the Cubs did some hearts crushing of their own.
  21. Defense will improve, don't know if they'll be able to manage average or slightly below. Might be helpful if Gordon and Edwards come back, not counting on that though.
  22. The line is improving, I do think we'll start to see an uptick in the running game. How much is limited by Swift not being all that good.
  23. For the old timers, RIP Bernie Parent - https://apnews.com/article/flyers-bernie-parent-dead-adf9fa9d4eba56c4b0f1485b757fae4d?utm_source=firefox-newtab-en-us and Ken Dryden - https://apnews.com/article/ken-dryden-died-montreal-canadiens-nhl-c84273335f030170e8118f0dd2d7a0bf I remember watching both of them, boy, I'm old.
