  1. Maybe they're waiting until the last series of the year, it be even more crushing to not make the playoffs on the last day.
  2. On and on with the Reds, yet another garbage hitter with a HR, I know these games mean about as much as a spring training game. I'd still like to see the Cubs get one.
  3. Way, way off, they're in the playoffs because they do the little things right.
  4. Cubs just can't get mostly bad players out, it's a simple as that, and extraordinarily frustrating.
  5. Like I said I don't if it's the Reds or Cubs failure to get their ****** ass lineup out.
  6. Think what annoys me so much is the ongoing failure of Cubs to execute or be effective against the Reds. The Reds lineup is mostly filled with mediocre to bad players yet, the Cubs cannot consistently get them out.
  7. Inside the park 2R HR for the Nationals, up 5-3 going to the bottom of the 11th.
  8. Nationals are up 3-0 on the Mets after 6, even though I'd love to see the Mets blow it, think I'd rather they win. Making tonight a must win for the Reds. I so want the Cubs to deal a body blow to the Reds by beating them in a must win game.
  9. Bullpen is a problem, he tried to address that, Finnegan has been really good for them. He also tried to address the starters with Morton. Given what I'm certain were outrageous demands by selling teams for pitching this year I thought the best he could in trying to improve their staff. It's on the offensive side where I thought he failed. Counting on McKinstry to keep up his hot start, a revived Baez and Gleyber Torres to keep looking like a batting champion were mistakes. Did very little to bring in some more bats.
  10. Classic Cubs type loss for the Tigers, get a two out 2R HR for a 2R lead. Bullpen immediately gives one of those runs back as a rookie, having a day, hits a HR. Then they fail to pad the lead and cough up the game as said rookie gets the tying hit on a two out, 1-2 single, followed by another 1-2 single. Just classic gut punch kick in the balls for the Tigers. Division lead will soon be down to 1.5 games, haven't looked but, I'm guessing if the Tigers don't win the Central. They're out, does anyone know off hand? So glad this crap isn't happening to the Cubs. Though this continual losing to the Reds is getting old.
  11. 100%, there's also a some lingering bad habits from last season, Ben Johnson has convince Caleb playing on time, doing as you suggest, IS the big play. I believe Ben Johnson himself said he didn't expect the offense and Caleb to really start clicking until December. Pretty much the last quarter or so of season is when I expect we'll see real progress and truly dangerous/good offense. Will it result in any wins? Probably not because the last quarter of season December-January looks pretty brutal. In any case we've got a long wait, a horsefeathers load of more bad times, a horsefeathers load of more bad press ahead of us. Isn't that great?
  12. Padres losing and Mets winning renders this game meaningless, most especially for the Reds. Ha, ha suck it Reds. Although I’m growing tired of the Cubs making these clowns look good.
  13. Yes, my contention is he can be had at home, Kelly just crushed a ball. A stupid send. But, Lodolo can be had at home.
  14. Have you looked at Lodolo' home and away splits? Way more effective away -
  15. I'd go with Busch at 1B and Alcantara in CF, instead of Turner and PCA. Isn't Lodolo a reverse split LHP? Just took a look and he is very much is a reverse splits also, noticed he worse at Great American Ballpark by a significant margin. Shota' pretty consistent home or road, that is consistently good.
  16. The Reds aren't offensively good, they're really bad vs. LHP, 27th overall. Cubs should have a good chance tonight.
  17. We'll gradually see this horsefeathers clear up, of course, it'll be very gradual.
  18. All true. Offense isn't going to be terrible forever, it'll improve, including in this game.
  19. Watching Dodgers national broadcasts is sometimes tedious, I know all announcing crews are homers. Dodgers crew takes to a new level, all they do is blab about the Dodgers greatness. Being crappy players such as Ben Rortvedt, Kiké Hernández and Conforto or not, doesn't matter, they're all the best.
  20. Overreactions to last week, people are thinking the Cowboys are just going to show up and be able to drop 600 yds and 50+ points on the Bears. Without considering all the details making last week a perfect storm for the Lions.
  21. He's got to know a pattern of success for pitchers has been established by now, doesn't he? I'd go up there looking/expecting off speed away and try to damage to the opposite field. Burn the pitchers enough to the opposite field and they'll try another sequence/location.
  22. I know that, I meant in-game, Edwards and especially Johnson going down like they did had a big impact. They were doing alright until Johnson went down afterwards, the secondary was like a bunch of lost puppies.
  23. Think you're correct about Greene throwing a no hitter. To be fair, I don't think there's a team in baseball that would have done anything with Greene last night. He had fantastic stuff and location not to mention an umpire giving him every close call, which to be honest, worked in Rea' favor as well. For Greene, that might have been the best game of his young career. I remember Kerry Wood making a 102 win Astros team look like pathetically helpless one day in May, it happens. Took a quick look at Wood's game again, I honestly don't know how the Astros managed to put the ball in play for the other 7 outs. Best thing about last night, for the Cubs, that game had as much meaning as a spring training game maybe, less.
  24. People are deluding themselves if they believe Lamb, etc. are going to put up monumental numbers. Sure, they'll probably have good to big days but, 50+ points, blah, blah for the Cowboys? Not going to happen. Unless, of course, the Bears lose multiple defenders again, don't think that'll occur. Well, it is the Bears and the only kind of luck they have is bad so, perhaps, I shouldn't be certain they won't lose multiple defenders.
  25. Let those chuds cheer for the loser Reds all they want, probably chaps their asses the Cubs are in the playoffs and say, the Twins and White Sox aren't.
