  1. I count at least 5 balls that were set a tee and taken by the Cubs. And then we swing at the FB at out heads. How does someone like James go 11-4 since last August? Has absolutely nothing, no exceptional pitch nor move movement on anything, control is weak to poor, it's unbelievable.
  2. I count at least 5 balls that were set a tee and taken by the Cubs.
  3. You know you're talking about the same guy who gave Jones a 3-year contract, right? Or the guy who gave Howry and Eyre big contracts? Or Soriano's insane contract? Speaking of Soriano, and looking forward to his K this inning, will ever do more than K and misplay balls in LF? Ever?
  4. I have to believe Jones is going to be the first casualty even a complete moron, such as Hendry, must see his worthlessness.
  5. Why do I have the feeling that despite it being overtly obvious moves need to be made, Hendry' going to sit on his hands and wait it out? At the very least, these are moves that should be made: 1. Dump Jones, bring up Pie, put him in CF for the rest of season. 2. Dump Erye, bring up Carmen Pignietello or Clay Rapada 3. Dump Barrett, bring up Soto and go with him and Hill until Blanco comes off the DL These three moves would improve the team furthermore, if Hendry has any thoughts at all about saving his job and face, something must be done.
  6. The nonsense of Zambrano aside, today was exhibit A of Barrett' Baseball stupidity and defensive ineptitude, picked off again, passed ball, throwing error.
  7. Absolutely unacceptable. Z's days as a Cub are clearly numbered. As this point, I'd like to see him shipped to first taker for some prospects and Guzman moved into the rotation. Barrett, on the other hand, I'd take a bucket of baseballs for him - used even.
  8. Juan Pierre, yes Juan Pierre, has more RBI's-13-than Soriano, words don't describe...
  9. The opposition grounding into DP's with two on and nobody out? I've seen everything now!!!
  10. But Jones is significantly older than Pie, so how can Jones not be the best option? If it Busty managing I'd grant you that but, I think Lou is reaching the end of patience with Jones.
  11. Another K for Jones, I really believe the Jacque Jones experiment is coming to end and quite soon.
  12. Kyle Davies has a CBS Sportsline Player Ranking of -1.25 and a career ERA of 6.16 given this, he'll quite probably go 7, giving only a run or two.
  13. Anybody for Orr's first HR of the season?
  14. Boy, that DP came out of nowhere!!!
  15. Gotta love those XBH's on 0-2 counts!
  16. Blanco' a better receiver, and he'll stop more pitches in dirt, look at Barrett' approach, he's never going improve at receiving pitches nor will he cut down on the passed balls. Moreover, team's run at will on Barrett, they'll not run so much on Blanco.
  17. I believe we'll see less of Barrett and Jones in the Cubs lineup and more of Blanco and hopefully, Pie. Barrett and Jones are both defensive liabilities and, for lack of better word, stupid when it comes to Baseball. What the Cubs "lose" in offense by not playing Barrett and Jones will be offset by what they'll gain in the defense Blanco and Pie bring. Barrett' worth as a catcher was his offense, if he's not hitting, he worthless as a catcher. As for Jones, last year, he at least, supplied some power, with the power outage, he's worthless as well.
  18. Not a riddle at all, its the Cubs, if Barry Bonds were a Cub, he probably be on the DL but, if weren't he'd have only a couple of HR's.
  19. What? And remove the shock/surprise element Jones and Pagan bring to the table? Tell me you aren't shocked and surprise every time Jones or Pagan gets on base. I saw Jones draw a BB yesterday, ten years from now, I'm going to be able to say to my sons - "It's not a myth, Jacque Jones actually drew a BB, I saw it."
  20. It's a little late but, raise your figurative hand if you knew DeRosa was going to K after Ramirez' K with runners on 1st and 2nd, 0 Outs (in the 4th, I believe). I'm raising my hand, told my wife before he stepped to plate, watch DeRosa K here.
  21. Honestly, I don't know what good firing Hendry will do, the damage has already been done, the roster is what it is. The time to fire him should have been the end of last season, before he had a chance to put together this mess.
  22. I'm wondering if the above is making the situation worse, that is, trying too hard can at times, exacerbate a bad situation.
  23. Bases loaded in San Diego, 1 out - GIDP 1st and Third in LA, 0 out, fails to make solid contact, runner is held at third Cubs don't score.
  24. As I was mowing my lawn this morning I was thinking about the Cubs being only 5 games out. And how many games Izturis offensive and defensive presence, or lack of, in the lineup has cost the Cubs. I know Baseball is a team sport however, Izturis has cost the Cubs at least four games this season. If the Cubs get those 4 games, despite today' loss they're tied with Brewers in the loss column, only a game out.
  25. What about Todd Helton? I know his numbers have been inflated due to Colorado nevertheless, he has put up some mind boggling stats - lifetime: .334 AVG, .432 OBP and .592 SLG
