If he never plays another NFL snap, then his final pass attempts in Green Bay, New York, and Minnesota were all interceptions. All INTs that essentially took his team out of contention for the playoffs or out of the playoffs themselves. Not that he didn't do way more than his fare share to get his team to that place, but still. Actually the last pass he's thrown as a Viking (thus far) was very early in the game against Buffalo, probably not the NFC Championship INT you're thinking of.

ITS OVER!!!!! The first week without Favre in 18 years. Now that the streak is over, it becomes much easier to sit him in other games. I wonder how many games Favre would have missed over the last 3 years if there was no games streak. Same could have been said of Ripken and Gehrig, too. Games played streaks do weird things to players and managers/coaches.

As I said after the Falcons game, leave the rest of the staff and bring in Gruden. With Grant and Finley coming back there's no reason we can't win the Super Bowl next year. This year has been a disaster on so many levels, hopefully Rodgers' concussion is not severe, but this is the second one this year. I'm starting to worry about his durability long term. I think it was the 2nd quarter were we had like 2nd and 18 and they ran up the middle and got stuffed, then tried a short little dump off pass on 3rd and like 17. What the hell?

Thankfully the Packers are playing the Lions. If they were playing a good team they'd be getting blown out.

Yeah, sounds like they're leaning that way. They have all the essential personnel in place for the Packers/Lions game today, and sounds like they'll just keep them in place one more day for the game tomorrow night. My money is on the game being played in Detroit.

I would respect the family's wishes and do it whenever they like, but if they'd be cool waiting until the Home Opener, I'd go for that.

Pretty much this. And I think you meant AL East. b/c whip is far from the end all stat by which to measure pitchers True. In and of itself WHIP isn't a good judge of a pitcher. However, what CUBZ99's point was is that Garza put up pretty respectable numbers last season, pitching 1/3 of his games against the very difficult Yankee and Red Sox lineups. If you take Randy Wells and his similar numbers against the NL Central and transferred them to the AL East, they would not be so respectable. And I agree. Garza was a similar pitcher to Wells, but he faced much stiffer competition, so his numbers are therefore more impressive.

I thought he was there right till the end. October 3rd against Houston, wasn't it? And be careful. While your idea is honorable, baseball has that whole "express written consent" thing and could probably have your ebay auction pulled if they found out about it.

Michael Young likely isn't going to be a better hitter than Alfonso Soriano in 2011. Nor will we be likely to swap bad contracts and get the money off the books earlier. If by some miracle Hendry can swing this, go for it, but I'm very doubtful. -
I think it was clearly his worst. Not sure if that was because of how pathetic the Cubs were, but people commented all the time how bad Ron sounded. If you like what he did he was at his best in the late 90's/early 2000s, when the Cubs were in contention and he had more energy. He would get confused, but not as badly as he did this year. I really feared he'd die on air this past season. He did sound worn down and tired when he was on the air, and didn't really have the energy he once did. I don't know if that was the illness or if he just didn't have that much to get excited about. I think it was a combination of both. However, if I live to see the Cubs win a World Series, Ron Santo will be the first guy I think of, even if it's 50 years from now.

Welcome aboard. Little did I know when I listened to the last game of the season and heard Sam Fuld ground out, that it would be the last time I'd ever hear Ron Santo in the booth. Had I known, I'd have appreciated it more. He was just through so much with his health and overcame so much that you took for granted that he'd be there.

A lot of fans were turned off by his homerism, but to me that made him all the more endearing.

Nice little moment with the procession going past Wrigley. The fans there broke into applause and a rendition of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame". And now I've got tears in my eyes. I'm trying to tell myself that Ronnie isn't gone.. just his body is. That he'll still be at Wrigley every day, just in spirit. That's not helping right now.
