If he pitches Monday and pitches decently, I think he's gone. Otherwise, I agree. I honestly don't know why everyone is so gung-ho on trading him. He'd be a good piece to hang on to, lock up long-term and build around. I'm not opposed to trading him for the right price, but thankfully we have a competent front office that won't trade a guy just for the sake of trading a guy, or trade a guy at his lowest value.

So you're upset that Dempster is having a good year this year? No, he's upset that Dempster is having the best season of his career right now and his value is as high as it's going to get, and he's waffling on the trade and driving his value down with every passing day. Frankly, I'm pissed aobut that too.

Soriano and Drew Henson were both mentioned in that trade for Sosa that never happened. Funny, I just pulled up an old Buster Olney article about this. Back in June of 2000. So was Lilly, IIRC. Soriano, Lilly, Ledee, and a minor leaguer or two I think was the deal before it got cancelled at the last minute.

It's so easy to make a fair schedule, yet MLB is completely blind to it. 18 games against each of the other 4 teams in your division = 72 games 6 games (3 home and away) against each team in one other division in the other league = 30 games 6 games (3 home and away) against every other non-division team in your league = 60 games 60+30+72 = 162. Done.
