  1. Kill it with fire.
  2. Tolleson definitely fits with the statement regarding hard-throwing strike throwers and the bullpen recently. I'd put decent money that he's a target in any trade with the Dodgers. Eovaldi is a guy that could slot in the Cubs rotation now. I'd like this trade a lot. I'd kiss Theo on the mouth if he could pull that trade off.
  3. Ugh, Marmol blows. I think I'd rather have Alfonseca out there at this point. Anyone know what Mel Rojas is up to these days?
  4. I mainly hope he has a solid outing today so the Red Sox, Yankees, and Jays will possibly overpay for him.
  5. Agreed. He certainly deserves it, and I hope he's pitching in October for someone.
  6. In other, other news: Ben Sheets is apparently still alive.
  7. Could have consecutive days with perfect games.
  8. It seems like most perfect games have at least one amazing defensive play behind them.
  9. I hope he really is starving. Classy.
  10. I always love a perfect game. We've been spoiled lately, though. At least this was a great pitcher. Not Phil [expletive] Humber. True, but perfect is perfect no matter who does it.
  11. I always love a perfect game. We've been spoiled lately, though.
  12. We're in a new Golden Era of pitching. Maybe they'll have to lower the mound again.
  13. Congrats to Cain. I thought the last guy was going to get an IF single.
  14. Staying up past my bedtime to watch this one. Has ESPN broken in yet?
  15. did he get the out? Must..... get...... baseball!
  16. Edit: Beaten like a drum on the link. Not Soler, thank goodness.
  17. I'll believe it when I see it. How reliable is this guy? Hearing rumors slowly making their way around Twitter that it has something to do with Soler.
  18. You figure he'll be in the minors for probably 3 years, and then 6 years of service time before he hits the market. He'll get another chance at 29. If he pans out, we've got him under control very cheaply for nearly a decade. Even if he busts, it's not a huge loss. It's a good deal, IMO.
  19. That should be his calling card. Every time he earns a save, he pukes all over your field just to rub it in.
  20. I'd watch.
  21. This. MMA has replaced the niche that boxing once filled.
  22. 103 in 1962 and 1966. Currently on pace to shatter that record.
  23. I don't know, but my prediction of 100 losses before the season is looking more and more like a reality. EDIT: On pace for a 52-win season. Need to go 44-59 (.427) the rest of the way to avoid 100 losses.
