  1. Um......ok.
  2. That homer didn't do much for me when he hit it. I was still pissed about game 6, and I knew we'd find a way to blow it in Game 7. The Cubs are a team that just doesn't recover from a loss like Game 6. The Cubs could have been up 15-0 going into the 9th inning and I still would have been convinced we'd have blown it. I have a very ugly pessimist that comes out sometimes. I think of him as my alter-ego.
  3. Aram tried to hit that ball out onto the strip.
  4. Uh, he's already been named the fourth starter. Oh. heh. Well, uh..... he's not the 5th starter now, is he? Hrmm? Yeah. Thought so. :p
  5. Geez, he's getting killed. This ought to put that "5th starter" talk to rest.
  6. Wow.... Someone's not a farker O RLY? Fark rocks. Duke sucks.
  7. Todd, on behalf of Cub fans, I apologize for the idiocy you deal with in that clubhouse every single day. You deserve better.
  8. He absolutely did by looking at the alternative. Cedeno struggling = Neifi. How does that mean Cedeno deserves a starting job on a 100M team? Neifi's presence is irrelevant. The payroll of this team should be irrelevant, too. Why? It directly effects what players you can and cannot afford. Whether your team payroll is 10 million or 100 million, your best players should play. Period. Not your highest-paid.

  10. I don't know if even the most optimistic of us see that happening. I'm trying to keep my optimism up! Something which gets harder with each passing year.
  11. I love Z, I love the way he plays, I love his intensity... But I've been saying since he's been brought up that he needs to get that temper to work for him instead of against him. Even last year after a few bad calls/plays in the field, he'd stomp around and curse and overthrow and walk a few batters and get himself into trouble. He can't do that. He made some strides last year, as I saw him on the bad end of some questionable calls, he bore down and kicked some butt, almost becoming Super Z. If he can harness that anger in that way, he'll go into the Hall of Fame. But if he keeps losing his temper, he'll never reach his full potential.
  12. Oh, you have no idea how much I would love that. The Big Conference commishes would poop a brick if GM won it all.
  13. That coach has a job for life now.
  14. Go George Mason! Being a Cub fan has engrained me to always cheer for the underdog.
  15. I gotta say Marshall. He's been lights out this spring. Although the walks concern me. How's married life treating you? Quite well. We've made it a week without killing each other. We're finally sorting our wedding gifts today. I got sick of seeing them in our spare room. It looks like we're just moving in!

  17. I never said he's a bad influence, I said I'm tired of his mouth. It seems every time there's a quote in the papers, it's from ol' Todd. Your opinion is worth more when you don't offer it every day. And while he shouldn't flat lie if the team is performing badly, saying we flat out suck can rub some players the wrong way who feel they are putting in 100% effort. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on this one.
  18. What attitude? What attitude? He has a big, fat mouth, and has been traded numerous times. There are other players who have been traded numerous times. Just because a guy has been on several teams does not necessarily mean he's a bad influence. Look at Reggie Sanders. And his "big fat mouth?" When a reporter asks him in the midst of a bad season what he thinks so far, is he supposed to lie? Is he supposed to say they're playing well?
  19. Don't be too excited, Meat.... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/cs-060323cubs,1,1629361.story?coll=cs-home-headlines GAHHHHHHHHHH :wall:
