  1. Ugh, free murton! Hopefully he has a monster spring and can't be ignored.
  2. Half full now. Up to seven. edit: Now up to 9.
  3. Appropriate name. You're going to get whipped....by ME!! Yes, that's me. The master of trash talk.
  4. I love Athalon Sports. It's more skewed to the real game, but it does have some fantasy aspects and has some good insight.
  5. Welcome. Prepare for a butt kicking of epic proportions.
  6. The categories would be standard 5x5 plus OBP for batting and BB for pitching. Draft is tentatively set for Saturday March 3rd at noon. That can change, though. IM me if interested. The defending champion knightlife_in_lubbock will be there to defend his title from last year.
  7. I'm looking to start an NSBB league. I'm thinking at least 14 teams, h2h, and probably 6x6 (with OBP and another pitching category). Shoot me and IM in case you're interested. It'll be a live draft, but it probably won't start till March or so.
  8. Cue the Stone haters to rip this post to shreds in 3.......2........1....... Personally, I found him informative. I learned a lot from him as a boy watching a game that he and Harry would call. I never found him to be stuck up or "Captian Obvious." But, to each his own, I guess.
  9. How many ospreys are there in the greater Tampa area?
  10. I don't think panic about losing your best pitcher in over a decade is over-reaction, especially seeing as this demand is coming after some really questionable spending has been made. Had this demand come in November, he'd be locked up by now. But with the stupid contracts given to Lilly, Marquis, DeRosa, etc with almost no thought about locking up Z long term I think this is a perfect time to panic. you really think that no thought was given to locking up Z? Really? honestly? Not as much as there should have been. Can anyone here justify giving 4/40 to Lilly or 3/21 to Marquis when you have a freaking future Cy Young winner on the staff entering the last year of his contract? Which was more important? Flushing money down the toilet by severely overpaying for mediocre talent or locking up one of the best pitchers in the league? Obviously, Hendry chose the former.

  12. There is no way that Hendry can say he's serious about winning now and then letting Z walk. If a deal is not done soon we're going to lose our best pitcher since Maddux under very similar circumstances.
  13. Well, is this Maddux 2? Just give him what he wants! He's worth it!!
  14. The team didn't have to issue it. There's as much blame on the organization in this matter as there is on Marquis.
  15. Because blowing up the Bartman ball worked out so well.
  16. I'm a Cubs fan through and through. However in the offseason I bleed green and gold. Go Colts on Sunday!
  17. One of the worst things about winter is not hearing Pat Hughes on the radio. Would it be possible to get him here for a Q&A?
  18. I don't think we've had a legit HR threat off the bench since Glenallen Hill was traded.
  19. and yet the WS Champs are in the NL Central. And the NL Pennant winner has come from the NL Central each of the last three (should have been four, damn A-Gonz) seasons.
  20. That's IF things go right. This is the Cubs, however. Things rarely go right.
  21. I'd take Neifi over AGonz. Any day. I never ever ever ever EVER want Agonz on this team or anywhere near it. [expletive] error in Game 6. I'll never forget it. Why, I'll.... (pauses to take medication). I'll... (calls therapist). I'll (goes to happy place).[/b]
  22. ESPN also says the Giants knew about the test.
  23. Cruz had the stuff, but not the control, which made him just like hundreds of other prospects who didn't pan out. Every team has guys in their system with good stuff. Few have guys with good stuff and the control to make that stuff effective.
