    It would be nice to even out the leagues. However, I don't think we'll see a franchise in Vegas in any of the 4 major sports (football, baseball, basketball, hockey) anytime soon. Sure, you could ban betting on that teams games, but what about getting to players about "not giving their best performance" in a game a week or two down the road against another team in a different city? Same goes for officials. There is just far too much room for corruption. Portland would be good, as would San Antonio. Charlotte would be another possibility.

    I'll start counting down once it hits 20. I think it's a bad idea doing it this early. It's the equivilent of counting down outs starting in the 4th or 5th inning of Game 6. Don't count your chickens before they hatch. We haven't won a damn thing yet. However, they're playing damn good ball again, and we should knock Moeler around like the chump he is. And Demp is at home, so he should be effective.

    2004. There wasn't a weak link in that rotation. I'd take that rotation, when healthy, and put it up against any rotation of the past 20 years, save for maybe any Braves rotation during their glory years.

    Yeah but think of how many we would be ahead if we had only not come out cold after the AS break. or if the braves werent completely worthless right now. we better have a decent lead by mid september, cuz the last 2 weeks has collapse written all over it. In a couple of weeks, we'll get our three games versus the worthless Braves, so I'm not too worried. But then they'll play like the Braves of the mid-90's.

    The umpiring seems to be especially bad this year. Not just in Cubs games, but all over baseball.

    You mean like we're consistently good in the games we win and consistently bad in the games we lose? Like we've been consistently bad today, and two posts earlier you had questioned my prediction that the Cubs weren't going to win? And if it wasn't over before, it is now.
