I have a Corey Patterson autographed baseball sitting proudly on a shelf in our upstairs family room. I win. -
why is there even a photo of it? Not of his personal injury just of the injury in general. I made the mistake of googling it and yeah his foot quite literally almost came off. His career is over. Yeah if he can come back and be able to pitch (even pitch at a ML level) after that it'll be a miracle.

Sweet merciful crap, that sounds horrible. :( Poor guy. I hope he can walk like he could and have 100% full function in that ankle after it heals.

Very good move. It's the first prominent UFA the Packers have signed since Woodson and Pickett in 2006. I heard this today. Great move. O-line and D (especially the pass rush) should be our only priorities this offseason in terms of bringing in new personnel.

I'm wondering if the pending litigation against the NFL regarding concussions made the penalties more severe than they would have been. If one of those cases sees the inside of a courtroom, opposing lawyers would have been flaunting the Saints punishment as proof that the league doesn't care about safety if it wasn't bordering on excessive. I think part of this is covering their asses, not that I don't think it isn't justified. I'd have taken away 2 first-rounders instead of 2 second-rounders, though. I wonder how long it'll be before Williams is reinstated by the league. You'd think at least a year, as they can't make it "indefinite" and then have him come back before Peyton. Goodell possesses a mighty hammer, that's for sure.

Rumor has it the Packers are interested in Tebow for some reason. I ultimately don't think he ends up here, but stranger things have happened.

3 years/ 24 million with 10 mil guaranteed. Not bad for a guy with 2 career starts. I wish him all the best. It's a shame as I like him and think he'll be good, but he'd be blocked by Rodgers. I'll be rooting for him. Yeah, shame cause he has all the talent to be an NFL starting QB. But we got Rodgers, potentially the greatest QB in NFL history, so that makes saying goodbye to him quite easy. I wouldn't crown him "Greatest of All Time" yet. That's jumping the gun, IMO, but yeah, I think Flynn will be fine. It was nice having him as an insurance policy in case Rodgers got hurt, though.

Bud is apparently ready to offer Peyton a "competitive" offer and a front office position after he retires from playing. I had resigned myself to the Titans not having interest in Peyton, but now I'm getting kind of excited. If the Cubs can get Theo, maybe anything is possible..... Manning is reportedly down to the Broncos and Cardinals.
